Well first I don't think he is talented. Second he has not been in the league for a couple of years now.

I feel they should focus on the supplemental draft (which that's ironic) if a DT comes out or wait for a team who is rich with DTs make roster cuts later this summer.

taking away any moral stand here....are we sure Brent is even good?

Lets say he gets a suspension when he gets out of jail. How many rotation type players can be out of football for two years and get back to the NFL? I would say the percentage is very, very small. Especially when the average career for these type of players is no longer than 3-4 years in most cases.

I liked when we drafted Brent several years ago. I thought he showed some promise. Although, I seem to think he had leveled off after his initial play. I just wouldn't count him being an NFL player after two years off, jail time and all that he has gone through emotionally.

LOL. I am sure if it was your relative he killed during his 2nd DUI incident and he gets a measly 180 days you would think he paid for it twice over. Joke.

I'm not some uptight prick so I understand mistakes happen it was the guys best friend. He's played a direct role in his grinds death and spent time in jail. You act as if it was his goal to kill the guy and he should be stoned to death.

He's known to be capable of playing in the NFL. Thats more than can be said to a lot of options. I don't really care if they breing him back or not, but thats why the Cowboys would consider him.

I don't get the fuss over his ability, he's a 7th rounder, out a football for a year with one career sack.

Yeah, but if you pair him with Ben Bass you have one career sack :). Doomsday!!!

Could be an upgrade over Hayden or at least adds competition.

It gets back to the same thing - does he even want to play football any more?

Until I hear a definate answer all this is just whistling in the wind.

Two things that have been completely obvious for a long time now: The Cowboys would welcome Brent back, and people will misunderstand what RKG means for, what, the thousandth time. Seriously, guys, it's not even believable that you don't know what that term means by now.

Why even get to know the terms? JG will be gone from here before we know it and then the term won't mean jack squat. The Cowboys have to be out of their freaking minds to take that mental basket case back on this team. If they seriously take him back, all that is going to show is the front office is out of their freaking minds.

sometimes you say this about a guy to bolster his shot somewhere else. See Miles Austin.

It's going to take a Year for him to get in Football shape. Not a good move to bring this guy back into the fold. It's a Jones move, the same kind of ignorant move that has landed Cowboys Fans on the sidelines watching for 18 years ... and counting.

Just wish we'd be consistent with this whole RKG thing. We passed on some good players because of character concerns. Imagine if we had Vontaze Burflict and Janoris Jenkins (and an extra 1st round pick since we would have passed on Claiborne).

there is a difference in sticking with a player under contract and drafting one with issues. draft picks are very valuable. bring brent back does'nt cost you any picks and little money

Exactly. There are many reasons it doesn't make any sense at all...but that what stop Jerry who knows it all.

Not surprising here. The fact the Cowboys are admittedly working with the league shows their commitment to Brent. Both sides(NFL/Cowboys) will agree to a fair suspension and they'll move on with Brent resuming his career. I predict an 8 game suspension. The key will be getting Brent back so he can at least go through training camp.

While you and I may remember that, the WR as well, it's as if the Cowboys think they are winning over players, while in fact nobody remembers loyalty if they weren't the recipient of said loyalty. We aren't building some kind of extreme rapport with players current and future, that thought is and always has been totally asinine and ignorantly exclusive to the "Joneses" as well.

That is more of the kicker for me. Sorry, I have never been all that impressed.

If they are serious about making him compete and not get handed a job back because he apparently is the organizational charity piece, I really do not care.
