I think the difference now is Dak's massive cap hit AND Dak is refusing to sign any offer that does give him what he wants IMO. Romo and Troy's contracts were much easier to adjust.

They are going to extend him at his price anyways in a year if not before camp, they are going to pay Ceedee more later if not now. The cap has gone up which is why the players amount per year goes up it’s all connected. They also could have restructured diggs and other to create space.

That’s nowhere near a reasonable excuse not be active now.
