He’s playing for backup and possible 2025 starter, that is all. Dallas needs to see him in more action to make a future decision.

Gotta find out exactly what Lance can do. If anything drive up his trade value as Dak isn’t going anywhere.
Right. That’s why I say nothing bad can happen from a Cowboys player playing well. If he plays great and Dak signs an extension then we can market him to other teams. If Dak doesn’t sign an extension and Lance plays great then we have something to build on and have a cheaper alternative. They got to get him signed though.

All personal agendas for me go away once the games start. When the games start if you’re wearing a star I’m rooting for you. Nothing bad happens when your players play good.

I keep saying it. The writing is on the wall. They don't believe (nor do I) that Dak is worth a quarter of the salary cap. Lance will be the first to get a shot, if he fails then they will look towards the draft.
I bet they signed Dak by training camp

Rush and Dak know the offense, so it makes sense for Trey to get brought up to speed if there's going to be a fair competition for QB2.

Dak is the starter this season, barring injury. The issue with the whole Trey Lance thing is that he's also not under contract next year. Sure, they can get him cheaper than re-upping Dak, but he's not going to be the level of cheap one gets from a draft pick.
