Like it’s the preseason…and the 49ers kicked him to the curb after giving up a ton of draft capital for him.

Going to need to see a much larger sample size in regular season games.
Baby steps . . . it is a process

I know at least 3

and their catch phrases are

RP - Hater!
AC - Look at this Kurt Warner video and get educated!
R - We have won 12 games for 3 seasons, that is just as good as winning in the playoffs!
And that guy who uses the word Trance

Since the Cowboys have formally declined Lance’s 5th year option they can sign him to a contract for 2025 and beyond. If so many fans are aware he’s a phenom I wonder why he isn’t signed. The Cowboys have no quarterbacks signed beyond the 2024 season. Right now it seems the organization literally doesn’t think he’s even better than nothing.
Why would they sign him for that high of a cap hit, especially when he hasn't proved anything yet? If he does light it up he will be signed to a more cap friendly long term deal. They are actually in a great position, IMO. They will have plenty of options after next year. Resigning Dak, betting on Lance, Drafting a young prospect.

The overall I.Q. of this board has gone down so much it is amazing.

Not just about Dak either...

I mean they should. NFL QB is one of the toughest positions to play in professional sports and requires both the physical skills and the mental and emotional fortitude for the pressure it entails. Better for Lance and the team to get as much reps in as soon as possible to see if he has the former in order to make a decision as quickly as possible to stick with or move on from him.

Ya but...
To do the same thing over & over, and expect diff results is the definition of insanity.

So choice is....low i.q., or insanity?
Maybe dimensia is now contagious....lol

This is more about Dak being who he is than an investment in Trey Lance. It's Jerry wildcatting is all....

Actual debate here... Lance plays 3 pre-season games and goes 15/18, 12/13, 11/14 with 4TD's and 0 INT...

How do we feel?
So they be throwing checkdowns all game. only 4 TDs on 45 total pass attempts. If he has a grasp I expect some chances to be taken. Checkdown Charlie does not instill confidence. You could pull some UDFA off the street to run checkdowns

What cap hit? They can offer Lance the minimum allowed by the CBA. It’s not like he’s going to hit free agency next March and have teams straining at the leash to sign him.

Well sooner or later they either have to re-sign Dak or let him walk. This seems like a contingency plan in case he walks? Or maybe not I don't know.

If Lance gets a ton of reps and sucks, they'd best save half a ton for Hohensee.

I seriously doubt he'll walk -- he likely knows his best shot at getting filthy rich lies in the hands of Jerry & Stephen. Green's his fav color!

The cap hit if they would have opted for his 5th year

What if in the final preseason game he completed 80% percent of his passes for 300+ yards and two passing touchdowns with a 120.00 passer rating, while running for over 50 yards. Resulting in a total of 4 offense TD's?

Well Will Grier did that last year. We actually cut Grier to make room for Trance. Where is he now?

Looks like he went to Philly. Wouldn't be surprised if they flip him for picks later because they are a competent org lol.

I like this alot. See what we have in the young man. Push Dak for the starting spot, I'm all for it.
