There is going to be a QB transition from Dak to Lance.
You’re wrong on the QB transition. Dak would really have to crap the bed in several key games the remainder of the season for the Cowboys to cut him after the season. If that were to happen, they’re not about to turn over the keys to an unproven Trey Lance. They would bring in a more experienced veteran to compete with Lance.
You’re going to be wrong. Trey Lance hasn’t done anything for the Cowboys to have confidence he’s the guy.
He had two seasons with Shanahan and he flopped, which resulted in him being benched and traded. That’s not the guy the Cowboys are going to turn over the keys to as their starting QB. Lance hasn’t even played a single game for us. He’s not even our backup QB. He needs a lot of development.
Start for who in 2025? Edmonton? He's not starting for any NFL or CFL team in 2025. The dude is terrible. On Zach Wilson's level.
He didn’t play very well when he was healthy. They’re not going to move on after only two seasons from a QB they gave up the farm for just because of a couple of injuries. He was given an opportunity this summer and couldn’t even win the backup job. You’re going way overboard thinking the Cowboys are going to cut Dak after this season and make Trey Lance the starting QB, when they haven’t even seen him take a snap for the team. That’s simply not going to happen! If Lance ever becomes the starting QB of the Cowboys, it’s because he had a good training camp, and beat out some competition for the starting job.
It’s not going to happen the way you think it’s going happen. Lol Jerry isn’t about to cut Dak and name Trey Lance as our starting QB heading into the 2024 season. Lance is going to have to prove himself in some games before he’s even named the backup QB. He hasn’t even beaten out Cooper Rush yet.
How do you know he's the future? So far he's been so bad the team that traded up to get him has dumped him after 2 years. Lance will be a free agent too. Do you pay him starting money? Will he take less? How much less? So many variables. What if he doesn't get better cause ultimately he only had 1 good year in college then sat out so he doesn't get exposed as a fraud. At this point I think Cooper is better than lance.
Maybe you're right. But there's a silver lining if he starts for us in 2025. First overall pick in 2026.
