I'm not letting McFadden go for some rookie with so called potential. Dmac did his thing with nothing around him offensively and he blocks very well. If anyone doesn't make it it's Jackson.
Jackson plays special teams, runs tougher, fits a zone blocking scheme, costs less, and is younger.

McFadden is gone. Traded for a 5th perhaps.

So McFadden didn't run tougher in the 1st preseason game last year?

I am not so sure. If we can trade him and get something then maybe. Outside of that, I think McFadden still has a valuable role here. He is a good RB, good pass protector and good pass catcher. To me that puts him ahead of Dunbar who is only a pass catcher. Morris is meh in pass protection and as a pass catcher. Jackson is very limited as a runner, not much wiggle, pretty much straight line guy. I think we would have no problem getting Jackson onto the PS.

We already have several "key" ST guys that likely are going to make the roster simply because of their ST game. Heath, Wilber, Church, Gachkar, Hitchens are all good ST guys. We don't have to force a spot for a rookie RB.

Tough decisions to make at RB for sure. I still think its an uphill battle for Jackson in winning a spot over Dunbar and Mcfadden as well. He does have intriguing athleticism, but Mcfadden is proven and Dunbar is lightning in a bottle when hes healthy.
Dunbar never stays healthy.

He will be released and we will carry 4 RBs each Sunday.

If Linehan adequately gets it right..he should have 4 distinctly different RBs to design plays for..

the defense will go crazy trying to meet that challenge.

We should rotate them every play and keep them fresh and involved.

There is a reason Jackson was taken in the 7th, and it isn't because he plays special team, fit some fictional blocking scheme or any other reason except he is not that good. Someday, he may be, but right now, he is fifth on the depth chart.

His salary cap is nothing compared to what he brings for his depth and insurance at the RB position. So what if he has one year left on his contract. It doesn't mean that is a reason to let him go. We can get a comp pick next year that way. We have around 18 players right now on their last year of a contract.
So he is the oldest RB at age 28 or 29....not sure what that has to do with it. He can still play at that age.

Injury prone, he has had 2 healthy seasons in a row now. Can people just drop the othey stuff, and they were not major injuries either. Time to move on from that crap. Heck, tony has had many injuries too. Is he considered injury prone? What does he count against the cap this year at age 36?

I heard nothing about the PUP list. Where did this come from?

The zone vs man blocking schemes and his running in them is a myth and has become a CZ urban legend. This has been debunked.

Zeke, McFadden, Morris, and if a 4th is kept, Jackson. But he needs to show why he should be kept. Dunbar to start out on PUP.
2 healthy seasons in a row? How has McFadden looked in camp this season? He was injuried in camp last year too

He wasn't taken in the 7th round and it was because he didn't play for major school

Not much wiggle.......his feet are as quick as Zeke if not quicker

What did you think of Morris and Jackson tonight?

I really like how Morris looks in our system.

Elliot needs to get on the field. If he is a lot better than Morris then our offense could be something else.
I like the depth. Its a long season !

Morris will start the season as Garrett likes experience out on the field. Elliot will get in a few sets but I think he will be in to protect Romo first.

Jackson, unless he unleashes the dogs at some point, is going to the practice squad, knowing that he will be on the 53 next year after DMacs contract expires or if there is an injury this year. I don't see any other team signing him to their 53 unless he really tears it up for us in preseason.

Elliott, DMac, Morris, and Dunbar on the team with a FB.
Jackson on PS.

That said, I'm not sure what people who say Jackson has no moves were watching; I saw at least two nice jump cuts in the hole last night.
