RELEASED Cowboys release James Washington

Washington was still on IR when we cut Ridgeway. Therefore we didnt need a roster spot for him when we cut Ridgeway in September (Washington came off IR in November).
Understood.

I meant in the Cowboys personnel decisions. Bad decisions that have hurt the team instead of helped it.

Is there an emoji for abject failure due to my predictions he’d be a stud in our offense

This was a low risk with upside signing. Had Washington not got injured it may have been a very different outcome. Can't hit on every bargain free agent signing and I won't criticize the front office for this one or pretend Washington was solely counted on to to replace Cooper.

It took him 10 weeks to heal from a 4-6 week injury. And even based on the list you sent me. He was injured in Pittsburgh as well. Maybe not to the extent I remembered. Guy was a waste of time. And money.
I won’t keep arguing, but you aren’t accepting facts. He almost never missed games in his career before this. And a 4-6 week injury? Are you listening to Jerry? Who is even walking normally after a broken foot that requires surgery to reset bones with screws. It wrecked a season for DLaw in the past.

I agree it wasn’t a great signing in the face of what we lost in Cooper. I agree he’s nothing special as a wr and has done nothing for us. I simply corrected you on saying he has a long injury history. That’s a fact, not something to argue about.

What a terrible signing that was, and so indicative of how silly it was to trade Cooper for peanuts.

We really went into this season counting on this guy and Tolbert to produce.

When he went down, and Tolbert emerged as a total moron, our backup backup plan was literally UDRFA Dennis Houston

Cooper Rush. Instead of putting Dak on IR they cut Ridgeway to bring Rush in.
Yep. I found that after I posted. They were hoping to sneak him to the PS. Couldn't remember the details, but knew it wasn’t Washington that cost him his roster spot.

LOL. Kazee? You realize he was responsible for half of Diggs yards allowed right? Anger, Kearse and Maher are good signings for sure. That doesnt outweigh the fact this team doesnt sign IMPACT free agents.
I'm not letting Diggs off the hook for trying to jump routes too often, but sure Kazee wasn't the perfect solution. He did, however, also do positive things. I wasn't trying to say things were all positive with all these players, or that all signings were the same level. Obviously some were better than others.

Yes, the guys you mentioned were good signings, as were Turpin, Fowler, Hilton and Barr, even though admittedly I had hoped Barr would stand out more.

Again, I'm not praising Jerry. He's been a lousy GM. But that doesn't mean we have to believe there haven't been some good moves.

IMPACT free agents. As in. First week of FA. Unfortunately. Our FO. Is the only one in football that takes family vacation cruises in the first week of FA

Ridgeway didn't even make it to the practice squad. He was signed through waivers. He was that valuable, except for the dumb Cowboys who wasted a 5th round pick only to cut him and see him picked up immediately by a division rival where he has contributed for them. You know, DT, the same area we have been lacking production in all season?

Correct. I couldn’t remember the details, but knew it wasn’t Washington that cost him his roster spot. It was Dak’s injury and the Maher roster machinations. They did pretty well early with the roster moves, Ridgeway was one they got caught in. They got surprised by the WFT.

Was never going to contribute after his injury. Not good enough and doesn't play STs. Another guy people saw coming back from IR and immediately over rated. JAG

Not a big deal, he was a minimum signing. What hurts even more is that Tolbert has been a total bust in his rookie season and isn't even a lock to make the final roster next year. WR is a big need in the offseason.
