Don't forget, they cut Amari too, then had to trade for cooks and him and Gallup cost more $ than it woudla been to keep Cooper who was a real deep threat. SMH what a failure.

That was a disaster but I’ll say this. I don’t think CeeDee develops in the manner he did if Cooper was still here


That doesn’t mean I agree with trading Cooper but he was the alpha dog intially then coops last year you started seeing signs from lamb he could be THAT dude and once Coop left he exploded especially last year

Maybe im wrong and id rather Gallup been let go especially after the injury

Is cooks under contract for this year? Maybe Turpin , brooks or Tolbert steps up with more reps

And that roster has consistently failed in playoffs for one reason or another because the FO failed to address one thing or another usually the defense but I don’t think they did the team any favors with last years draft

Hopefully this year it gets better production from that draft

I disagree that Tolbert looks like a jag. He was productive anytime he was asked to play and he’s going into year 3.

His arrow is clearly going up.

You’re not wrong that still don’t excuse some of the things they’ve neglected

Us fans have known about this rush defense since Romo was under center no excuse for it still be an issue

Yes they have thrown darts hoping it would stick but they’ve missed whether it’s hill, gally or whatever name you want to insert

And the LB issue from last year having all the undersized players and not being able to stop run was a mistake those are just a few example of mistakes made that ensure us coming up short

That being said you have valid point it’s hard to win in the nfl and there can be only 1 and right now the gap between the chiefs and cowboys is significant

Gallup was still better than Tolbert. He was our only WR to show up in the playoffs. We continue to lose talent. We’re going to be banking on a lot of young players next season.

Your boy Dak is better off for it, less to focus on now.

When Cooper was traded for just a fifth and Gallop was extended it there absolutely posters here who said good riddance and Gallop is younger and better.

The other side of the fan nonsense is the thousands of folks who think it was just a cap savings move to cut Amari.

They ignore that Amari had stopped practicing and was openly annoyed his targets were going down as CeeDee's went up.
He was NOT happy as 1B. much less WR2.
He flaunted rules and basically acted out to get attention.

Amari was gone before he ever played his last season here.
He knew it, team, knew it and the league knew it.
No one wanted to trade more than that crap pile we got because he had been a two-time malcontent.

Gallup was kept over Ced Wilson.
Wilson was cheaper and healthier but less proven.
Gallup unfortunately only ever had go route deep ball stuff here.
Dallas bet a lot of money on him becoming a complete WR and he just didn't.

Def was a possibility he would develop into a more complete player given a larger role.
Was a great culture guy and worked hard.
Just didn't work out.
Injury probably robbed a lot confidence he badly needed.

I’m no Dak homer but he’s the best we have and there’s no one available that’s better. I’m not looking to tank with a cheap QB like some fans. The only way to improve on him is in the draft and that’s a big crapshoot. The Steelers just dumped Pickett who a lot of fans here wanted the Cowboys to trade up for a couple of years ago.

Whether he was kept over Cooper or not had nothing to do with my comment. At the time Gallop was at his ceiling and when we traded Coop away for nothing a base here said it was fine we had gallop who would instantly pick up that production. Fast forward to today ….


I am not denying or arguing against the points you made about Cooper in the locker room as most of that stuff was probably true. However Cooper went on and is still being productive while MG is now without a job.

Tolbert is a JAG.
Maybe perhaps, cutting Gallup will give CeeDee more touches and will make him seem more secure as our blue chipper.

I know he didn't get a high volume of targets but 22 for 268 yds and 2 tds needs to be tripled to even be considered an adequate/low end WR3.

Yeah, that type of production could easily be improved upon through the draft.
Even in the lower rounds imo.
