They cut Jackson to activate McFadden though. I would have just dumped Dunbar, but they were still in love.

I agree that doesn't make much sense to have kept Dunbar rather than the rookie. There must be something behind the scenes that we don't know. Otherwise it was a suspect move.

See Darren McFadden and Terence Williams. Williams even tweeted "Loyalty" after agreeing to terms with us on a very reasonable contract.

Anybody who can't see the benefit of both these signings is blinded by an agenda in my opinion.

Anybody expecting "splash" signings hasn't been paying attention and was destined for disappointment from the word go.

Having a different opinion than you have does not make it an agenda.

They just thought they could sneak him through. Made a mistake, plain and simple.

Dunbar would have been claimed too....didn't the Rams just give him 3 million? Dallas had to make a tough call, but at the end of the day the organization thought Dunbar could help with a playoff run. Do I agree? Not really, but the Rams sure seem to agree

It's no mystery. Dunbar showed some ability after the catch the previous season and the team thought he had a different skillset to the other RB's on the roster, including Jackson.

They were wrong is all.

Having Zeke also made them feel confident that even if they lost Jackson, it wasn't like they were missing out on some secret talent that was better than the current starter.

Maybe they thought Dunbar was the better player? What has Jackson done since leaving here? Better yet, what did he do while here?

This Arkansas running back is Jerry Jone's 'prodical son.'

Why would you risk a guy you like to waivers at all if you like him more than Dunbar? That makes no sense whatsoever. If you value something you don't risk it. You certainly don't risk the better player to keep a lesser player you know you aren't going to resign.

Didn't they cut him earlier in the season and get away with it?

I agree, though, it was a stupid decision that cost them a pick and a player they reportedly liked.

No they kept him active all year

We didn't need to bring DMC back for 24 carries when we had EE, Morris, DJax and Dunbar

Jerry just feel in love and refused to budge even after DMC broke his elbow messing around

What is our fascination with 1 year contracts.

Constant turnover, lack of continuity (on the field), and dumpster diving for free agents is a horrible strategy.

You're right. I thought they'd snuck him through earlier in the year. But, yeah, they should have cut another player at that point. We had an extra running back, and let the wrong one go.

You'd think, with some of the guys we do the one year deals with, we could insist on a club option for year two, for sure.
