You are certainly entitled to your opinion and you may be proven right when its all said and done. I believe that is why they play the games. That said, your bitterness is showing.

I would also challenge your point about nobody else wanted "them", whoever "them" is. It has been reported that both McFadden and Williams had interest from other teams. But we ignore that because it doesn't fit your agenda, right?

Some food for thought. How many people would have bet money before the season that a 4th round rookie QB would lead us to a 13-3 record last year? My guess would be not many.

Just because we didn't make any splash signings does not immediately and automatically doom this next season to failure. Have some perspective.

I would've probably laid a $20 bill on that Prescott bet in a sports bar somewhere,as he had me double amped jazzed after seeing him in preseason.

It was gonna happen so no biggie......... I just want more.......an AD or a JCharles plus a rookie draft faller like Mixon

I think we still add a RB in the draft, but if McFadden is healthy and cheap he becomes one of the best backup RBs in the league.

now i feel bad for him, he just signed on to go no where. Could have gotten on a team that was play off worthy. Now, its just another year older and some money.

BTW, McFadden signed for 980K according to ESPN. That is another good value signing.

raise the medals for that. i ll see you at the "we totally did great for value savings" parade.

So who did we miss out on?

Are you upset that we signed Paea instead of McClain for three times as much or Nolan Carroll instead of Brandon Carr for three times as much?

I love the rush to judgement after one week of FA.

if this was the plan, why sign anyone at all? trading Jag for Jag isnt an improvement. Lets be honest. Now that aside, lets be clear on what i went on record saying. I believe we were 1 or 2 players again, 1 having to be a player who can get to the QB. This team went and blew it all up. So 1 superstar isnt going to make a difference in one off season. No way do you have that many holes and think 1 draft and 1 play maker is going to be the difference. We didnt sign someone who is known for getting after the QB.

So when your over all play is to blow up in what we hope is for long term, Which in Dallas, that can be some serious years. which will make teh EE pick look bad.

Now i would be ok with this if we torpedoed the defensive coaches and was bringing in a new guy and letting him implement his system for 1 year and getting ready to go in 2018. ok i can deal with that. We are keeping the coching staff who pretty much got us 1 or 2 players away from the championship game at the very worse case scenario and we looked at that and said "screw it" lets blow it all up.

We dont have anyone on the bench that is going to make a difference that can sway the team.

LOL.. sure, guys like McClain and Carr are such JAGs that other teams threw huge contracts at them.

Guys like Carroll and Paea gave the Cowboys a discount and said so publicly. They did it because Dallas has a great young core and a great future. Sorry if Dallas isn't overpaying just to make you happy.

Dallas isnt over paying to make me happy. they are NOT over paying to see if the fans figure it out. this year wont be the year. jag for jag is not an improvement when you are 1 or 2 players away.

stephen the bean counter is hiding the savings in the cap structure by quietly deleveraging the annual restructuring.
in the name of long term financial benefits, he gets away with #$%^^

On this date one year ago Dallas had signed exactly one FA, DT Cedric Thornton. How did 2016 turn out?

not spending much money after going 4-12 is perfectly reasonable.
things turned out great because they had possibly the best draft in the history of the league
now the front office drank too much cool-aid and is expecting that type of success every year?

we are going to need that type of success to fill all the holes we have.
instead of improving, the draft will be looking to tread water.
all so we could be frugal.

stephen the bean counter has basically squeezed the life blood out of the 2017 season.
what he is really doing is quietly pull money out of the team by deleveraging from the restructuring practice.
while one would normally argue that is a sound practice, you do not squeeze the life blood out of the team after going13-3.
they could have readily improved through FA without blowing the cap up.
but that is their excuse.

Stephen - you want to lay down, remember to bend over first!

Haha. You present a strong case.

Honestly, I'm not expecting to win a Super Bowl this year, but we'll have the youngest team in the league (probably). It's going to be a lot of fun watching all the young guys on defense play. Unexpected names will surprise, some will prove to be valuable depth, maybe a legitimate difference maker.

Even considering, I wouldn't be shocked at all if this defense is better than last years group.

I agree, obviously there are a lot of variables. If two guys are healthy out of the three of DLaw, Crawford and Jaylon Smith it will make a huge difference.

I think everyone is overreacting to these CBs move (as usual). I did think they would resign one of Claiborne or Carr but the three guys we have now are better than what we went into 2016 with and will still add another CB with a high draft pick.

The key at Corner IMO is Scandrick's health. He was hurt last year but in the second half of 2015 he played like a #1 CB. If he gets back to that form Brown and Carroll are just fine as the other corners. Its a significant "IF" but its something the coaches know and the fans don't.
