Cute response. Too bad it doesn't diffuse the fact your fellow board member is merely hoping, with no facts to back it up, that your dear Cowboys won't get embarassed again next season. ;)

you "embarassed" us one year after 8 years of dominating you ....... now who is wishful thinking kid? :lmao2:

They would?

Considering Anthony Henry was the best Corner in the NFC before he injured his groin, yes.

Considering T. New is becoming revered throughout the league as a shut down corner, yes. (He also didn't commit a defensive pass interference all season)

Considering R. Williams changes the way receivers run routes, and he quietly becoming a better cover safety, yes.

Considering Aaron Glenn would be starting on almost all NFL ball clubs right now and he's our nickel corner, yes.

(Insert FA safety or high draft choice here), yes.

How do you "diffuse the fact" that you are only "hoping" we will get embarassed again next season?

Or is this not a two way street?

But you can't ignore the fact that the Commanders have improved themselves and the Cowboys, so far, hasn't. Yeah, we might have overpaid, but if that means getting us one step closer to the SuperBowl, oh well.

Wait, the season started already? See the sig buddy. There is no FACTUAL support for team's going strong in free agency having any success the next season. It doesn't work. Never has. I'm sorry your hopes are so high.

Signing whatever big name pops up wont get you in the Super Bowl. The Skins always win the Super Bowl in march, but look at the Patriots for example. They NEVER make a splash in free agency, and just continue to win.

All I know is that you rarely get better by doing nothing. Besides, this is a different Commanders team from the ones that was coached by Spurrier. We're getting players and coaches that have upsides, not old, washed up players we used to go after.

The Commanders of the past would already have TO.

You get better by drafting well and signing Free agents to supplement your good drafts. NOT by ignoring the draft, trading picks away, letting your draftees leave, and signing other teams overpriced free agents. Go ahead, look for one example of a team that has had success that way. They don't exist. So go ahead and win the March super bowl every year. The rest of the team's in the league are going with the route that is actually proven to work, while the Skins continue their exciting excercise in futility.

I really don't see yall going to a superbowl, when dan uses your organization as a revolving door for overpaid free agents that get cut after a short amount of time because they cant pay the remainder of a contract. How can a team like this gel? A team made up of mercinaries wont be able to play as a team. all these guy's care about is a paycheck. To win superbowls guys have to know each other and be willing to lay it on the line for the guy's playing next to you.

Please. Terrence Newman is a top 5 cornerback in the NFC and can cover anybody anywhere.

Can you go into a general NFL message board and say that without getting laughed at? So I guess it was your coaches' idea to keep Newman no where near Santana, right? Or how about Nov. 15, 2004 when he totaled 134 yards and 3 touchdowns on your defense, where was Newman then? If Newman was really a Top 5 corner in this league, who could cover 'anybody', why didn't he?

P.S. That was a mistake about the Nov. game. I meant to type 'What about Terrell Owens?" there but I was typing too fast. Maybe I shouldn't be doing this at work, lol.

[assuming they have a legitimate QB playing] we're gonna get burned deep again, unless we get a real FS and keep Roy at the LOS (and out of coverage). the matchups favor Wash.

Brunell not legitimate? Only 2 QBs in the NFC had a higher rating.
He should have made the Pro Bowl!

That being said, no one knows when Campbell will take over the spot.

Dr. Z, sports illustrated's NFL analyst, well respected for his player evaluations, ranked Terrence Newman as his #1 corner last year. He allowed no TDs, he allowed 2 catches for 20-somethin yards per game. he was not on Moss, because our corners early in the season played sides of the field, not specific players on the other team.

If you want to troll on another team's board, you really should educate yourself about that team - at least a little bit. Otherwise, you'll continue to look a fool.

In the past, that maybe true, but things are changing. You're gonna start seeing more and more teams win with FA teams, mark my words.

Well Newman was playing the slot where his coach wanted him to play, Newman played everygame last year and did not give up ONE TD, that is a top 5 corner, ask Steve Smith how good he is.
