What I I find funny is I watch our picks on TV and they say it's a great pick and talk the player up and then I come here and find out they're trash. lol

But then oftentimes two to three years later you can look back and see how kiper and mayock were dead wrong and the fanboard here was right

If they are shopping Scandrick they should have been thinking DB in the 4th too.

With King and Woods on the board, I just don't like the pick at all.

I don't see why they'd need to take a CB there to shop Scandrick, but King is who I wanted as well. I knew they'd go offense though, they weren't going to take 4 straight defensive selections.

When you still have needs at DB and two decent ones are still there I don't agree with taking a special teams weapon in the 4th.

Questionable pick at that spot IMO.

So you are expecting to fill starting needs in the 4th? That seems unrealistic.

I would also posit that the club thinks kick returner is a need.

Scandrick isn't going anywhere.

Woods is still on the board ....

King is pretty much what we got in Awuzie. Can improve elsewhere than a Nickel or Dime safety.

Think of it this way ... Switzer can change the game on returns more so than King could playing 3rd safety.

When is the last time we've had a game changing return guy?? Kevin Williams? Alexander Wright?

Yea but not very often. Of Course last year at this time I was down on Dak so I don't know much either. lol And my biggest goofup. I wanted us to draft Johnny Manzel lol Loved the Zeke pick though.

As has already been written here, the kid is known for his route running - supposedly he best route runner in the draft.

I didn't see him in college but it comes through in the highlight reels. He looks like he's running away from people but really he's just running crisp routes and getting separation.

Another player that could make a contribution immediately.

Not a fan of the pick unless he houses at least 2 PRs next season

100% agree. Not a bad player but he doesn't offer much more to what we have unless lights up our return game and/or Bease gets hurt.
Whomever said we can cut Beasley in a year or two to save money is vastly overrating Switzer who doesn't have the speed and quickness or polish that Bease does. Paying Bease decent money after this contract is fine for what he brings. IMO he's harder to replace than Dez.

WIll replace Lucky and finally someone who can return it forward and not go 1 yard sideways as the most exciting 1 yard gain ever.

People that say Switzer is a Beasley clone hasn't watched him play. Just because he is short and white don't make them a clone
Do you have a comparison you prefer? People like context and a differing player comparison will give us some food for thought.

I would say it happens a fair amount. If it didn't there would be so many busts.

I'm with you on JFB,Dak, and Zeke. I had those same positions. That said, 32 teams missed four times on Dak and about six or seven QBs got picked over him so we whiffed but so did the professionals, big time. In fact, one might argue we got more lucky out of desperation than. Anything with Dak. Otherwise, we would've taken him sooner.
Imagine the how the Rams feel about it.. I would think their scouts felt some heat for that one.
Clearly our drafting has gotten way better lately but there were a lot of modern drafts that a CZ board consensus draft would've been 100% better than the garbage we actually got.

Our TE's are very limited, and Witten was asked to block more and more.

  1. I'm perfectly okay with using pick 133 on him if he does nothing but be the best punt returner in decades
  2. Imagine 2 wideouts with Beasley and Switzer slotted on both sides. Teams can't find a player who can cover Beasley; how will they cover one on each side?
I love this pick.

Trust me on this one, look at my pic. I am extremely familiar with this guy. I am so ecstatic that he is a Cowboy. The guy is a play maker not only as a receiver, but on special teams as well. He is always a threat to take it to the house when he touches it. He will be better than Beasley, Mark my words!

He has awesome hands and catches damn near everything. I'm so stoked!
I have followed him also, has great hands and plays full speed after his first step, no linebacker is going to cover and most CB will be tripping on his cuts.

Switzer is his own guy. He is an elite returner and route runner. In my opinion he can play any spot at receiver including outside with his high football IQ and vision. Best pick in this draft and will be everybody pet cat in training camp
