Switzer is his own guy. He is an elite returner and route runner. In my opinion he can play any spot at receiver including outside with his high football IQ and vision. Best pick in this draft and will be everybody pet cat in training camp
Hit the nail on the head. He lined up on the outside a lot of times for us and was able to make monster plays. What I love about him the most is his hands. The guy doesn't drop anything!

He's not gonna beat out Beasley. He might get slot reps once Beasley is gone. They reached for a punt returner.

Oh that's right. We drafted him to....beat out Beasely this year for a starting job. [eyeroll]. You're thinking 'replace Beasely' all the smarter guys are saying "So Long Whitehead".

Do you wonder why that is?

Caught 91 passes from Trubisky his senior year. A very productive college career, one of the attributes Jason Garrett prizes.

Does Switzer mean they will have a formation with two wides and two slots with Beas 1.0 and Beas 2.0?

And Zeke in the backfield.

The lead draw would be majestic off that formation.
Jerry Jones said in the press conference we would.

I wanted Butt or Eddie Jackson in the fourth, but I like this pick. I REALLY like it. While I didn't even think of Switzer being a Cowboy, I'm glad he is.
He's one of those hard-working, fleet little water bugs that give you everything and even more. And he's super smart.
He's definitely going to make an impact THIS YEAR! He's going to be a huge edition to the Cowboys offense, and I expect him to be integrated sooner rather than later. I think he'll absorb the playbook faster than your average player. And, yes, there will be packages with him and Beasley, and linebackers will not be able to keep up with either of them. Our offense became THAT much more dangerous.
I guarantee you he'll make a bigger impact that T. Williams did in his first year with the Cowboys.
Watch!

I am so jacked to see Switz and Beasley on the field together. Switz makes roster for ST alone. There is no better punt return man in the last 10 years possibly ever. He had numerous tds called back and still ended tied for all time NCAA record. Switz is the hardest working kid ever and all he does is catch passes for first downs. He will be the first one at the meeting, lift, workout, whatever. And always the last to leave. Put on any game tape you want. This guy is always open and does not drop the ball. A simple tunnel screen to him has a chance to go for 30 all day.

Well if Beasley were to get hurt you would have a similar player and you saw how crucial Beasley was to our offense last year.

Also, Switzer might have been the best return man in the draft.

I don't think the Cowboys are in position to be drafting based on if guys get hurt. They have some holes to fill. I just don't get it there. Getting Woods later helped me cope with the Switzer pick. I get the potential need for him. I don't get why in the 4th round or why this player. If he can bring some kick return and punt ability that will be refreshing.

You have to weigh need vs talent and if you felt like Switzer talent was better then any need player available then you have to take the talent.

If AJ Green and Orlando Scandrick were in the same draft and Dallas had the same needs they have right now you can't take Orlando Scandrick over AJ because Orlando fills a need.

Regardless I think Dallas did a great job at creating competition all over this roster.

I don't disagree with what you're saying. I guess what I'm saying is if you wanted a Cole Beasley clone why not go out and pick one of these undrafted guys out here who do the same things?

Like I said now I don't have a problem with it. At the time I felt they should've went defense because there was some DB's there that I felt could come right in and compete for a job. Woods was one of them. They got him. So I'm good. I heard Jerry say Switzer was a "Dak friendly" pick. Which I even get. I think reliable pass catchers who can turn small gains into big yards will help Dak tremendously.
