The only way they bring in another back is if one of their backs gets hurt and Davis is poached off the practice squad.

Maybe someone already mentioned this, but what about Rojo? Is there a role for him?

They are making Luepke pay his dues.
He is a rb in a FB body waiting for a few carries.
A gap power was his bread and butter, broke his share for long td.

He ran a 7 yd flat route, jets ignored him
He scored on that preseason.

He should have gotten a carry on the first and goal from the one series where they ran outside three straight times.

Thats one way to look at it - the game was sealed and they were basically running out the clock - giants knew we'd run and really loaded the box, I doubt very much any other of our RBs would have diff results in that particular situation.

Again just giving a number doesn't tell the whole story...

Game 1 - 8 yards on 6 carries for a 1.3 avg

Game 2 - 16 yards on 3 carries for a 5.3 avg

Way too much of a small sample, used wisely he can contribute.
You would think he could have broken off one decent run with the Giants pretty much giving up. Granted it’s been a small sample, but for his opportunities to increase he has to make some plays. The reason Pollard is in the position he’s in is because every few carries he would break off a run. Practically every opportunity he got to get a few carries, he would bust one. If Vaughn gets 6 carries and goes nowhere on 5 of them, but pops one for 50 yards and a score that will give the Cowboys incentive to give him more opportunities. Zeke fell out of favor with the fans because he wasn’t making big plays.

On 105.3 the FAN right now .

They aren’t overly impressed with Dowdle & Vaughn.

Vaughn was used to early in the game according to Broaddus.
I believe Vaughn had two key plays on a scoring drive (or scoring drives) with a nice run around right tackle and a good catch and run on a screen. Outside of a few plays, it was tough sledding against the Jets' front for the running game, but McCarthy sees quick passes to the backs as an extension of the running game and we do that fairly frequently.

You have to get Vaughn touches because he is a home run hitter. Eventually he will bust one long.

Luepke and Pollard should be handling short yardage carries though as the other backs are too ineffective for that.
Luepke cannot get on the field. YOu need to sign Fornette Or Hunt and keep pollard as the primary but heavily rotate in hunt/Fornette on short yardage. Bucs won supperbowl doing that with Fornette

We had our shot in the draft but opted for “you can find a back in the 6th or 7th round” option. Oops
