Injured with an Achilles in 17 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerry_Hyder#Detroit_Lions), so no stats there. His 16 stats look quite impressive actually. Not so much for 18, but he was a year removed from his Achilles injury. You know? I actually quite like this. He might not be a bad pickup if his leg isn't a problem anymore.

Relax, I think this has more to do with Irving and Gregory. Let's face it, we're not going to have Irving back, and Gregory will be even harder pressed to see the field. So, it is quite logical to need another DE, and I suspect we'll be drafting another DE just to be safe. I don't think we have much at DE besides DLaw and maybe TCraw when he's not playing 3T. We certainly don't want Dlaw to be the only one out there. So, this might actually be a good move for us, especially if he can return to his 2016 form. His measurables aren't bad either.

I think you're referring to his 2018 form when he was coming off of his Achilles. Nasty injury to return from, that is. If he can get back to his 2016 form, I think we'll be very pleased with this.

They all can't wait to say he sucked if he does and if he outperforms his contract they'll say it wasn't good enough and if he's an all pro they wont say anything at all.

I don't expect he's going to cost us very much at all. And you're quite right. If he is to rebound from the Achilles, then this is the season to do it. I suspect we have him on a prove it contract so that we can find out just what he's able to do. If he returns to 2016, then blimey, this will be a nice find.

Understood, but Achilles aren’t the career ending injury they used to be. Much like ACL’s, modern technology has allowed guys to come back and perform at the same level as pre-injury. I would definitely give him another look see because this might actually turn out to be a genius move. If he comes right in and gives us 6-8 like Randy would have then it’s perfect.
