Signed by Cowboys Cowboys Sign DE Kerry Hyder

Just remember where you were and what you were doing at the moment we signed our next Hall of Fame DL.

There are better DEs out there to sign, so it seems really odd that we would sign a guy with a history of an Achilles tear to a long term contract. Started reading about Hyder, then came across this:

Three years ago, Dr. Steven M. Raiken, the Director of Foot and Ankle Services at the Rothman Institute, wrote a piece for Sports Illustrated in which he outlined the long-term prognosis of Achilles ruptures:

“Once the tendon ruptures, it is usually never back to 100% again. Even in professional sports, 36% of NFL or NBA players sustaining an Achilles tendon rupture never return to pro sports, and those who do usually take about a year before they are playing competitively. Additionally, players who do return typically have a decrease in their power of about 50% and only play for an average of 3-4 more seasons. These injuries also seem to be on the rise, with more than 16 NFL players rupturing their Achilles tendons in the 2014 season.”

This signing underwhelms me.

Greg Ellis and Tyrone Crawford say hi.

This is the idiot FO leverage against signing Tank. Reminds me of foolio Jerruh using Terrence Flagler and Tim Smith as bargaining leverage against signing Emmitt Smith to a big contract.
Of course it’s not leverage against Tank. Its trying to make up for Gregory

Suggs tore both Achilles in his pro career and still produced at a high level.

But he's also Terrell Suggs.

BTW, I'm disappointed a bunch of Texas boys didn't seem to know who Hyder was. I knew the bum immediately and I'm in the Northeast. Cmon, bros.
Ya,well,,,yer' just one of them there bona fide bright spots from outta the regular ranks of Man amongst Men& it's easily overlooked anymore, being as it's of such common knowledge & such,,, o_O

All the Lions fans on twitter are claiming we got a good one and that the scheme change is what screwed up his 2018 season. That the Lions just didn't use him.

Thing is how healthy will he be? He was solid in 2016. Banged up in 17 and meh in 18

The cowboys are familar with that injury. Players usually do better the 2nd year after the injury

Waste of money....don't see the attraction. Would have resigned Reid instead.
