Thats what people thought about Mincey last yr and Selvie the yr before, and Mcclain when he was signed last yr. McClay does a great job scouting FA's. If they sign they are probably going to stick. He has had some injures 2 out of the last 3 yrs. Thats why he is cheap. He was a very good peice for NY before he got started getting nicked up.
Everybody was bashing the trade for McClain because they gave up a pick that ended up being a 6th.
Selvie never amounted to anything before we signed him. He had one fluke year in college. And I'd argue his first year in Dallas was a fluke too. We'll see.
Mincey was always a solid player but never a star. And that's what he was in Dallas. Good player to have on your team, but you're in trouble if he's your best player.
McClain had amazing potential coming out of college and actually played well in Oakland. His issues were mental. They still are.
Rivers is a bust. No comparison to the other guys.
Plus, our issue on defense has always been a lack of talent. We need proven players. Not more reclamation projects.
