I know everyone is down on McClain but I want him back, this defense scares no one with him gone. No enforcer, no hard hitters, no one scaring wr's from the middle. We will have plent of good smart players but we've had that before and Lee got punched in the mouth while our defense looked at the ground like they didn't see it.

Carter was our best defensive player the last month of the season. He has star potential and has lived up to it at times. Rivers is a JAG at best.

I have no problem with the Rivers signing, like people said, if he replaces Cam Lawrence. It's a bad signing if we're gonna be relying on him. LBer was our best defensive unit last year. This is a downgrade. Just like our RB situation. We're getting worse.

I don't think we were ever going to get Carter back. I doubt Carter wants to come back after being sat down at various times as a starter, and I'm not sure wants him back (at the price he'll want) after sitting him down at various times as a starter.

I do think McClain will be back, though.

What did you think of Mincey last yr?

rolando isnt needed because they have Hitchens. And Durant will be resigned shortly.

Hitchens matched mcClains production. Not to mention mcClain cant even be trusted to stay drug free.

What does Mincey have to do with this? I think Mincey played well, played with heart and he was held in the playoffs on almost every snap. I think he will back-up Lawrence next year.

Hitchens proved he's a playmaker at WIll but I'm not sold with him starting at MIKE. He is no Rolando McClain. Rolando had a great comeback year, it wasn't perfect but he was our best defensive player. He played and practiced through most of his injuries just like everyone tried to do. He faded a bit at the end but that's to be expected from a guy just getting back into football. Not to mention he had the flu and his house was burned down.

Rolando McClain with Sean Lee and Carter/Durant makes our LB's corps one of the best in the game IMO. Bring in a Suh or Hardy on DL, draft a playmaking FS and we got something cooking.

No doubt, relax. Depth signing, who may or may not make it out of camp. That's about it.

Yes LM but not all of it, what's the point? Last week it was Michael Sam and now it's Keith Rivers? You flip flop on Rolando more then Romney did on Health care.

Come on man.

Bye Bruce.

Lee, Mclain, Hitchens with Durant and Rivers as depth is real nice. Need one more and we will potentially have the deepest LB core of any 4-3 team in the league.

Yep, nice post and all true. I want to tell you how much I enjoyed watching Hitchens play last sesson. Told anyone that would listen last spring he was solid coming out of Iowa City.

We need one more young, durable thumper and I think that Taiwan Jones of MI State can be had in the 4th. Big, durable, physical backer similar to Hitchens, but doesn't cover and run quite as well. Excellent vs the run though. Back to back big ten backers?!

Im sorry but Ro missed a ton of practice, not sure where you getting he practiced and played through injuries.

That being said would like if Ro came back but also Carter as well. Big mistake if we let him go

I would have kept Carter or McClain.

I'm not sure how bad the Cowboys wants either one of these two back. Carter will get some
pretty good deals out there and it highly likely he is gone. Not sure about McClain with his
head issues, but he might be back if he wants to play on a discount. I don't think you break
the piggybank for a player like this with his history.

Besides, you now have you new linebacker in Keith Rivers. The Cowboys management
has said over and over again that they are going to be KMart "Blue Light" Special buyers
in FA. Get used to it because they are not going to spend big money on any of the so called
big names in FA. They are looking for low priced players on 1-2 year deals for not much
more than vet minimums. There will be no Hardy's or other big dollar players brought in
unless they last over two weeks into FA.

Keith Rivers = Championship!
