Twitter: Cowboys sign Marvin Austin after workout (Post #36)..will wear #90

Watching the DL these days is like watching a preseason game; a ton of numbers that I have NO IDEA who they belong to. Might as well put Pi on the back of one of their jerseys!
Right! Lol

JJT tweeted during the game, "Quick, name your Cowboys DL sans Hatch without google."

Nobody got 'em all.

Wilber Hatcher Hayden Selvie?

Only one I'm not confident on is Hayden, they may have started Nevis?

My Giants fan friends told me he was more into the football celeb life than football. Knock on him was that he was lazy and not motivated.

I just hope he doesn't bring that bad attitude and infect the blue collar mentality of this "no name" DLine.

well if he brings that crap here Marinelli will waste no time in cutting his rear end..

He didn't differentiate starters/backups, just who they were. And you named five, but you're missing two..

He doesn't sound like "the right kind of guy", but if he's interested in seeking redemption while on a short leash, let's give it a shot.

Plus we aren't asking him to meet the expectation of a top pick, just hold the line for 20 (or so) plays per game.

Doesn't hurt to bring him in, but I'm not expecting much.

Maybe Marinelli can work his magic. But in the same breath, from what I've heard, this kid's problem isn't something someone can correct for him... He's got to WANT to play football.

If there is anybody in the league that can get him right it is Rod Marinelli. Certainly worth the chance to find out.

With that said, he will always hold a special place in my heart for being so kind (or stupid) as to expose UNC's cheating on his twitter page. And then giving the NCAA the road map to all his violations. :)

Between Marinelli and Hatcher I have some faith here.

Yeah, I don't mind people that do. This is a very low risk high reward type signing. Good move overall.

I'm not confident in Austin, but at the same time, I like that we're leaving no stone unturned.

Worst case he sits for a few weeks and we cut him and look elsewhere. Best case he comes in and gives a little production for cheap.

Also, it isn't as though Ware is out for a long long time. If anything, I would think the rest of him is healing up along wiht his leg. In a week or two, a fresh, rested Ware with a line of Selvie, Hayen/Nevis and Hatcher looks pretty good again.

I think the Cowboys were looking for insurance in case either Hatcher or Drake Nevis got injured. I think they were looking for someone with a big body and Marvin Austin was the best available at his time.

We had an open roster spot and I think the Cowboys chose wisely. Based on numerous people here who say Vega looked bad yesterday, I suspect Vega will go back to the practice squad and another spot may open up. I wonder if CB Greenwood will be added.
