We’re now back up to 6 WR’s on the roster + they seem dead set on drafting a WR as well. Something has to be up...cutting Dez? But sure, Dez is now overpaid but he’s also still our best option. Cutting him at this point only makes a bad offense worse. So what the front office is doing? I have no idea and it’s pretty clear they don’t know either

Piss away money on 5 scrubs instead of signing one legitimate player. The current strategy is garbage. If you want to save money then just save money damn it. Id rather not sign anyone and utilize the draft. Guys like Nolan Carrol and Paea did squat for us last year.

Switzer was drafted to start...and to be a special teams weapon..Thompson is another weapon for special teams.Smart signing.Brice Butler was never going to beat anyone with speed and couldn't play on special teams. We all know speed kills,and that seems to be what we are doing.

As a long time FF enthusiast, I can tell you that DT was on the radar for a very brief stint about 2 yrs ago, but it was a very brief stint.

This is a perfect replacement for Butler and a stand in so that Ridley can be drafted and trained.

NBrown doesn't count ....he hasn't earned a thing and Switzer is more of a Utility STs guy

Those 3 players we got are decent foundational players...I got no problem with these signings. My issue is our starting group. Witten is a dinosaur,Dez is on the down hill slide,TWILL is up and down..and the safety/LB positions are void of elite talent until proven otherwise.We have the whole LG issue which with Cooper gone,is a BIG problem and need.

That's all true and a good take.

But Dallas wasn't really shopping for starters in FA.
They want a 5th OL and Stephen told us and other than that they need to replace/revamp Special teams and improve depth.

The draft is where I expect you to find real answers.

Tho you may get a pleasant surprise is say the safety market stays crap. We might poach a good value who can actually play.

Dallas starters are a top 10 group in football. Well, at least when not suspended or injured.
We didn't go 13-3 because of a superior coaching scheme right?

But we found our depth was sorely lacking and is lacking even more after losing Hitchens and others.
The small moves we've made have been solid and set us up to draft without desperation (still must sign the Swing OT). But we've moved the needle exactly zero overall.

Switzer and Beaze are 2 smurfs that run good routes and get open...AND Switzer has long speed..can get to the house on a 3 yard slant or bubble screen. He is faster than Beasley. So add Thompson..it seems we are going smaller and adding speed. If that trend continues,what out for DJ Moore at 50.

I really don't get the fixation on the WR position in this fanbase. As if drafting Ridley would suddenly have Dak throwing 38 times a game. As if we'd want Dak throwing that often given the construction of our offense.

People always gave Jerry a hard time for wanting flash in the draft and FA. But really he was just feeding this fanbase's desire for flash. It's so evident people want to be the greatest show on turf. Defense be darned.

I'm not really sure why we felt the need to replace Butler, but it is what it is. Thompson isn't going to make or break this team.

DJ Moore isn't making it to 50. He isn't making it out of the first round after his combine performance
