I don't care about this signing. Barr is a pass-rushing tweener. He might take away snaps from Sam Williams.

The Linebacker they should have signed is Bobby Wagner. Not Barr. He won't help out as much as what people think.

....sounds as if you're fixated with names. Is Wagner a better player, sure, but Barr's signing improves the LB corp, it allows Micah to be schemed into down hill plays especially now as he provides better coverage than LVE, alternatively he'll pass rush when the offense commits to playing Micah (another limitation in LVE's game).

I dont think you get Quinn's defense, which is based on flexibility.....that's why Micah isnt going to play solely as a DE, we want to confuse offenses to be unable to scheme us.

Barr does not improve better coverage than LVE. Barr is basically a tweener passrusher type of player. He also isn't faster than than Sam Williams and has slowed down considerably since. He is also injury prone.

People think he's a good replacement for Cox until he comes around. But at 3 million dollars, he is a bit pricey. Well, at least it's only for a year, so I'm fine with that.

Man.. I’m reading some of these comments ..SMH

y’all wanted Barr a couple months ago, so when they give you what you want.. the pessimistic, loser comments come rolling in..

Some of you are only fans to complain ab every move. Worse than my ex.. just know, I’m good with this signing due to our depth chart. But if Barr is washed up like some here also believe, we’ll this is on every person that was crying for Barr to be signed. Everyone that said Dal was dumb for not signing him.. Well, he’s signed and is a Dal Cowboy. Be satisfied for once

So true.

I like this signing! Improving the D should help towards winning a playoff game. Suck of seeing money being poured into the offense and it sputters in the biggest games.

Offense doesn't look atrocious. I don't know how this lunacy started but it needs to be corrected.

Missing a few passes in practice or giving up a likely sack to Micah Parsons does not constitute atrocious.

Not only that, but maybe our defence is just that good now. Maybe our offense is actually good, but our defence is bordering so much on elite that it might have crossed into that territory. Look how the Dline is getting pressure and the WRs are well covered. I'd rather it be this way because Dak now has to throw tight window passes, and this offense has to figure out ways to beat a great defence in practice. Think what that'll do when facing grew defences like the Bucs. We just need a better kicker.

Sweet!

Depth at linebacker is important to my prediction that this team will be a top 5 defense by the end of the year.

the casaba is very much a melon, however the prostate isn’t very far from the root
I was heading in that direction, but I knew you were smart enough to figure it out.

Back to casaba, isn't it what the indigenous tribes in South America (and other places) dig out of the ground and use it as the staple in their diet?

Edit- I google it and I'm thinking Cassava. My apologies my good man

This signing improves the defense, but also acts as insurance policy if 1 of the starters goes down. It's a win/win situation especially considering the financial dollars.

For the amount of money we’ve committed and probable return on investment I’m not sure why anyone wouldn’t be happy with this. There’s also a small small chance he has a very good year and exceeds expectations and it’s a home run. That said all we need him to be is a fundamentally sounds role player who does a good job in his role.

obviously he’s not Bobby Wagner but we were never getting him. The cowboys don’t invest big money to outside guys that’s just the way it is. I like this signing but I also have realistic expectations about who the player is now. However, I do feel he can help

Barr has proven himself a very good LB in coverage and on a 1 year deal 2 mill and 1 mill in incentives. I personally think it is a good deal for the Cowboys.

Although Bobby Wagner is the better player, and another one that is well familiar to Dan Quinn, ... but that ship has past, we have to deal with it. and move on

Barr seems to be the runner up prize, he's not what he used to be but he's a former multiple pro bowler, so " Barr- none " should still be a solid contributor,
so it's not like we're getting a mere JAG, serviceable player.
Hope to see an added better, more physical instinctive run defender LB than what we have had to experience these past years.

We flat out needed more playmakers among the front six or seven. Plus from past reports AB has been a team captain and well liked in the locker room, and he's been a part of
help calling the signals, and has a rapport with ex-Vikes DC and current senior assistant George Edwards, so maybe that should further help the team,

And now imagine LVE and Cox as top reserves, package spotters and relief spellers.
