Bill Belichick didnt have a winning record when the Pats hired him.

How did that work out?
Belichick didn’t have a winning record until Tom Brady became his QB. Saleh was off to a bad start with Aaron Rodgers.

If Saleh can’t get along with the jets owner what makes you think he can get along with Jerry? Great coach but idk how he fits here

And it’s for that reason I go with a proven HC such as Gruden or Carroll. Two guys with SB rings and a proven track record would command respect from the players. And with Gruden you have a guy who can get the max from Dak. Just my two cents and everyone has their opinions.
thats a fair answer and I appreciate it. But McCarthy had a super bowl ring- but just one- with one of the deadliest QBs ever. He did ok in Dallas but not great. Why not give a try with a hard core defensive mindset? I'm done with offensive guys going shotgun on 3rd and 1 when you're clearly playing against a team way better than you. Run. the.ball. move.the.chains.

You can have your own opinion, but not your own facts. Go back to page two for irrefutable proof.
bro 99% of the time I find myself agreeing with you...we kinda think alike. But its got so crazy in here, I cant follow every single post. Are you against Saleh?
Would you take Saleh over Moore, Witten, Zimmer? Just trying to figure out where you are at. I'm now on Saleh bandwagon. I want a defensive minded head coach. We've been wimps on defense long enough. And nobody can say Quinn, because when the chips were down, the defense confirmed how wimpy they are. IMO of course

He came from a place that has a worse owner then Jerry. Smart guy, good defensive mind. I think he got a bad deal with the Jets, but their owner is bat**** crazy.

My own facts? LOL.

Your argument is kind of arbitrary, isn't it? You chose to compare the last 24 years of playoff records but this is cherry picking stats.

For example, you ignore the Jets won-loss record since 2000 which is 168-219 or .434.

The Cowboys W-L record over that period is 217-185, or .539.

More importantly, a more recent comparison of the last 10 years, the Jets are 55-108. That's a record of only .337! Dallas was 92-69 over that same period for a record of .571.

Even comparing this past season. The Jets had a worse record than Dallas, firing their HC mid-season, having all kind of issues with their top QB, and even issues with their once star WR.

You have no proof. You have an opinion and I am offering evidence to the contrary. The Jets are a mess, like Dallas. It is a matter of opinion which team is a bigger mess.

I wanted him as DC I just don’t see him being successful here with how this organization is structured and the lack of talent he’s walking into. He struggles with Aaron, he would absolutely struggles with Dak. It will be another CK.

Saleh is a very good DC, but we need a great HC.

I keep hearing abt offensive/defensive minded coaches, but will they be good HC’s?

I recall when Jerry was hiring Parcells replacement everyone was saying we had to get a 3-4 minded defensive HC. But why? Wade had proven to be a great DC but only a mediocre HC previously.
We needed a good HC and a 3-4 DC. As it turned out, Wade proved again he wasnt a good HC.
