Cowboys to interview Saleh

I am in the camp that I would take Saleh over Goodber Moore, Sanders and Witten. At least he is a reach coach.

Saleh would be a great hire.

As long as he brings in an OC who has a 2025 outlook on offense. He got saddled with Hackett and Rodgers and lost his job. That team was actually doing better and better until Rodgers came to town.

I love Saleh. Unfortunately he wont be able to hold players accountable so it doesnt matter.
he wasn’t saddled with Hackett and Rodgers. He was part of it. He hired Hackett to be oc and he wanted a veteran QB. And he was also already HC when they drafted Wilson. Nothing good at all happened in ny in his 4 years!

I will take him as DC.........
As DC yes, but not as HC. I just wrote a post on the draft zone, think Moore HC, Nuss (OC) and either Zimmer or Harris as the DC. I also think we will hire Witten on the staff as well. Don't think they want to start over. I would, but all indications that is where we are headed.

of the possible names mentioned so far that are still available...I'd take my chances with this guy. Let him build a defense, draft a RB , and get his input on coordinators. Let him know he has to be involved in all 3 phases, not just the defense like he was with the NYJ.

He hired Hackett at the behest of Rodgers.

The Jets D was top 5 during his entire time there.

He had no QB.

If Saleh is hired he comes as a Dave Campo like place holder coach slap in the face to fans.
A hard slap
It’s an admission we expect a few 6 win seasons to back up next to each other.

Also once he got involved with Green Bay - Green Bay went to S.

Wow this is surprising.

Saleh is the first legitimate name I've heard that actually gives me hope for the team.

You would be too if Zach Wilson was your starting QB. One of the biggest QB busts in NFL history. Dude was/is legit garbage. He's Denver's 3rd String QB right now and he's lucky to be that.

It's also just the Jets, a top-3 dysfunctional NFL franchise of all time.
Exactly. Saleh had that Jets defense as the #3 defense in the league in 2023 despite having Zach Wilson, Trevor Semien, and Tim Boyle as his starting QBs. He still went 7-10 with those clowns at QB.

Maybe that's why Jerry likes him. An HC he knows he can pick the coordinators for and is used to dealing with overbearing management.

Live in NY so have seen a lot of Jets and Giants obviously (unfortunately lol)

I’d classify him in the camp of good coordinator, but not a good HC. Was way too buddy, buddy with the players and almost too nice of a guy.

Genuinely seems like a great guy, but doesn’t have the right temperament to be a HC. Also, his in game clock management left a lot to be desired.

If he was coming to be the DC great, but for HC big pass.

I’m sure he would get along well with the Joneses though.
I agree, just moved away from NYC, but saw the majority of his career. Good DC but isn't great as a HC.

Not even in the top 10 in points given up by the D. Getting all excited about top 5 in yards per game average is very misleading. He was in on the decision for Wilson and Rodgers!

If we end up turning Mike McCarthy into Robert Saleh I don't know how you don't consider that a downgrade.

At least give me someone with the potential to be as good or better.
Yes! I don’t think he is MM. I’m looking at this from a Jerry perspective and low expectations like a Witten. So Saleh seemed “reasonable” vs the dog and pony show we usually see. Honestly I’d rather have Glenn if we went D or one of the hot O coordinators but that’s asking a lot
