Aside from BB.....Zimm has done a better job at building/running a defense than all the other available candidates.......if he's hired, he'd have a very explosive offense....something he seldom had in Dallas, Cincinnati, and Minnesota...
The only DC that has his CBs play off more than Quinn.....is Zimmer. He literally got run out of Minnesota because his CBs were playing 12 yards off WRs.

If we go back to Zimmer....then I quit this franchise. It's the first sign of senility for real.

I honestly can't believe they are even bringing Zimmer in for an interview....what a complete waste of time.

Zimmer began as the DC during one of the worst periods in Cowboys history under Campo. Parcells elected to retain him despite Zimmer being primarily a 4-3 dc and asked him to run a 3-4 and he did well with the transition. After Parcells retired the Cowboys and Zimmer parted ways with Wade coming in. Zimmer went on to lead an ascending Bengals defense and helped turn around the Vikings defense. Atleast until the talent started getting older.

Personally I think Zimmer is a good defensive coordinator with experience running multiple systems. Not opposed to the hire, just wonder if going with a fresh face is a better way to go. Zimmer is going to be 68.

Sheeet I wish man. he’s going to command 15-20 per year
Indeed. But factoring in his production, that's a relative bargain imo. Last year, Gallup made $13+ mil. Pollard made $10 mil. Kearse made $5 million, etc. Rather than paying a premium to a #3 WR & a non-bell cow RB, give me the upper-tier pressure player.
Lawrence & Hunter at DE, and Parsons providing gap pressure (tell him he's the new Derrick Thomas), could be simply lethal. They could also mix in some intriguing 3-4 looks and have one helluva nascar package.

My guy just got hired - Zach Orr. Now? Idk. Just end this charade. McCarthy era is over.
Would've been good but I honestly don't think it matters with this current group. They will always get exposed in the playoffs unless we actually go all in on defense

Probably should start getting the bags packed….every sign is pointing that way

Wonder if McCarthy even knows this is about to happen.
Nope. You’ve got much better insider info than the head coach does. The one who personally knows Zimmer and is connected across the NFL coaching circles

yeah, I can see that,
Pretty much every other franchise the HC is in charge of hiring the coaches
not here
Definitely what we’re seeing in Philadelphia where Lurie personally stepped in and demanded everyone get fired. Siriani is lucky to have survived. Little chance he had much say other than “yes sir” to Lurie and Grossman.

Are you sure he'd be able to "relate" to the players?

It's the latest and greatest dogwhistle term to exclude certain folks
He was a consultant in 22 for Prime while at Jackson state. So he’s recently been around college kids. Maybe that’s why the term is being used? But I wouldn’t say that necessarily translates to being relatable though.
After watching film of his "AA" linebacker package (with Minnesota) it would be a welcome change from using safeties to do the work of "men". It's a scheme that forces the quarterback to make tight perimeter throws and is predicated on pre-snap confusion. On film it often resulted in receiver options being kept home to deal with potential A gap pressure from both linebackers. You would never know if Zimmer was going to rush the A gap or drop out of it. It also resulted in some lineman being inadvertently double or triple teamed, which allowed for a free rusher because of the confusion pre and post snap. It forces the quarterback to hold the ball longer than he would like.

Excellent breakdown!

Sounds like another retread, been there done that. Just give us Vrabel PLEASE!!
Umm, Vrabel is a retread. He’s been an NFL coach for a decade. Also, he’s not interested in being a DC according to most reports.

He was the Texans linebacker coach and the 49ers offered him the DC job and he turned it down, ended up getting a HC job instead. He's never been a DC and may never be.
