They invested heavy in their analytics department last year after the draft.

Analytics 101 (as far as roster building goes) is don't pay for RBs.

Cowboys should take the top RB on their board in the 4th round and then, if Blake Watson from Memphis, Kendall Milton from Georgia, or Jawhar Jordan from Lousiville is there in the 6th you can double dip.
The Cowboys don't have a 4th round pick - they traded it to the Forty-niners for Trey Lance.

I think they need to go with a guy smaller and faster than Vaughn, someone the defense can't get their hands on

WOW............a team that only builds through the draft basically has its first three picks and a pair of trash 7s.

And we already know our 2nd rounder will a gimp or a drug addict so scratch that guy off the list, so we are left with a 1 and a 3 as the only contributors for next season.

ALL IN;)

The 4th was Trey Lance
The 5th was the result of moving up in 2023
The 6th was Brandin Cooks

We’ll also likely have two compensatory picks this year which are not listed above.

Trading picks for players or draft movement is part of what people are asking for when they want the team to go “all in” so being mad about it when they make moves seems like a bit of false outrage to me.

Better ROI to draft RB1 in the 1st.

Plus you get the 5th year option.

Also, our cap is jacked up.

We cant afford to spend $$$.

#Lance trade was money.

That 2021 draft was awesome.

They did. Pollard. They underutilized him during his rookie contract to justify the massive salary to Zeke. Then by the time they wanted to feature Pollard he was coming off a broken leg and never the same.

This is a very poorly managed franchise.
Even more of a poorly managed franchise if no one is looking at film to examine run blocking mistakes. We're not a good run team for more reasons than the RB.

Running scheme and OL blocking is more of a problem then Pollard falling off. Wouldn't of mattered who we had back there honestly besides like a CMC but he's like finding a needle in a haystack nowadays.

Pollard also got hit hard with penalties on long run plays. Someone had a twitter post that showed him as the the rb with the most yards called back in a 5 game span at one point.

How many times did we see him get blown up behind the los? Almost became comical at the end of the season. Thats both in MM and Dak.

None of our RBs are starters.

Tony is slow.

Run game is more oline scheme than the back in 2024 unless you have a transcendent guy
lol. It’s not. McFadden and Zeke had basically the same line. I’d venture a guess that Zeke was far more productive and explosive

Makes sense not to tie too many dollars into the position. But I hope this doesn't mean devaluing the position altogether like we've done with DT and LB.

We still need a good RB.

the RB has crashed and anyone who thinks the Cowboys should be the team to once again top out RBs is crazy.

We did it with Zeke and that second contract wasn’t a good one.

Giants are second guessing Saquan

McCaffery is working out but he’s definitely an outlier.

I’m not sure what people around here want. We go with the trend to not pay for big time costly FA running backs and we’re idiots. We pay one of those guys more than anyone else and we’re idiots.

The smart thing is to draft a RB no earlier than the third round and ride them for their four years.

Sucks for those guys but that’s the way things are.
I think Mr. Barkley has some juice left in the tank. I would love to have him here. Problem is we most likely cannot afford him.

As long as those trades bring real results.
So far....not much...but you berate people for being critical.
