Simple question: What’s the first, most important step to getting a much improved running game?

A. Upgrading an aging OL
B. Drafting and/or acquiring better RB(s)
C. Both of the above

Correct answer is C. Because if you just get a good RB or 2 without upgrading our OL, don’t expect major improvements.

Our running game started getting really good in 2013 and 2014 when we drafted Travis Frederick in 2013 and Zack Martin in 2014. Demarco Murray was a third round pick in 2010 and he was excellent for a couple of years. Zeke was a huge reach at pick 4 of round one in 2016, but with that upgraded line, the running game led us to the #1 seed in 2016, despite having an average defense and a rookie QB.

You just can’t pay everyone full market value. The teams that compete get great value out of their rookie contracts.

Good news, IMO. Grab a solid RB around 3 or 4. Pick up a lineman. None of our high-ticket guys got it done anyway.

I agree the answer is C but I'll add that whatever o-line coaching we've brought in since MM took over, seems to be a mess. I agree the players aren't doing enough and we need help roster help but while the passing game improved, our run game has been a mess at times.

Tony is slow now? Is that surmised from the injury? Zeke ran on a bad knee for two years, without any regard by the franchise. Or is it Tony is heading to the table for money? Just wondering.
Probably both.

Im old and getting confused by the bs moderm terminolgy... ditching the rb is now resetting the market?
THank you!!! Lol I don't get it either, to me reset means they're about to go back to when they paid zeke big money, because the RB's the last season or so haven't been getting the money they deserve, so we need to get back to paying them lol

I like Foreman, but I don’t understand why he is continually let go when he is the best RB on his team as happened in Chi and Carolina.
he went to texas right???? He's going to be a cowboy this year

In business...when you "reset the market"...you are charging more. Or sell less. Or both.

They have to bring in a vet TB and not a Ronald Jones type. That's stupid. You also don't go and pay out the *** for Josh Jacobs either.

But if the plan is to roll with Dowdle, some Ronald Jones type and a mid round pick in what isn't the strongest TB draft.......... whew boy.
