Maybe, if I thought Sherman Smith never tried.

He flashes serious talent. Just like McFadden can.

But it just does not matter if he cannot develop a measure of consistency.

You can coach and coach and coach a player. But if they either don't want to or cannot comprehend the coaching, you are left with physical talent only. That said, you get what the player can give. I think most of his production was due simply to the fact he was talented. That is probably what drove the Seahawks crazy.

That is certainly understandable. Maybe a change of scenery will give him a attitude adjustment.

I just see this as a faster Gus Johnson, who I like. This team has 3 finesse backs. It needed some Braun!

Could be 4 week tryout until Ro and Hardy come back.

l wouldn't be surprised. The suspension allows Dallas a chance to see if any of the backs emerge and get the position sorted out before having to cut a player.

I won't be surprised if Michael isn't even activated the first week (since he's new to the system) while Dallas sees what the committee of Randle/McFadden/Dunbar does. If either health or lack of production is a problem, then activate Michael the next week to team with two of the others, and keep it up until we find the committee and its chairman.

Serious question - did the problems you see be corrected thru coaching?

One issue is they're barely given him any carries in either the regular season or the preseason. It's hard for a young guy trying to prove himself to be patient.

I think Pete Carroll just didn't liks like this guy's personality for whatever reason. Garrett never liked MaryB.

I'd actually be surprised if he played week 1. Week 4 is also pretty big. For starters, like it was said, he could be released when Hardy and McClain are able to play. But if he emerges, the team could decide that Whitehead will be the primary KR and waive Dunbar, since conventional wisdom said we would release Edwards to make room for Hardy and he was released already.

Yes, I wouldn't think carrying four RBs is a long-term plan, just until Dallas gets it sorted. Of course, there's always the possibilities that none of these prove able to be the leader of the pack, which would mean we need more time to sort it out, cutting one of the backs and bringing in another. ... But really, we don't know how the makeup of the team will look after three weeks. There could be a few changes for various reasons such as health.

good read, several bring up the fumbling issue, but several think it was stupid to trade him to dallas who is a rival contender in the playoffs,
and a team they play in dallas this year. They said smarter to trade him to a AFC team.
Many did think he might be a good fit here in dallas, and will find out if he is a bust or a talent.

They said he wasnt all that good at learning the plays, and his assignments, pass blocking, but was a good runner.

From what I gathered from Seahawks fans was that he has a lot of talent and that he couldn't put it all together. They are a bit concerned that with him wanting to play for Dallas and our oline, he might be getting that 2nd opportunity most players don't usually get.

There upset that he went to Dallas rather than an AFC team. That's because they know he might actually be a fit here and turn it all around and be the back that they envisioned him to be.

Exactly, which makes me wonder why seattle FO did not think the same way the fans do.
It does depend on CM and our coaches though in how they use him.

And for a 7th round pick I'm willing to give him that shot.

You never know.. Maybe he was immature and got down on himself feeling like he'd never get a chance to shine with Beast Mode there. And with some players that happens. I'm not justify that at all but it very well could have happened.

The fact is he wants to he here and has a real opportunity to prove he is the back that he thinks he is and what better shot than this given our OL.

I'm willing to give him an opportunity and a 2nd chance. Hopefully it'll click here and he steps up and seizes his shot.

And if not, it's a 7th at best.

Considering Rawls is a similar type of player with an UDFA contract for 4 years they might have just wanted to cut the contract and move on to something cheaper.

I mean why didn't Reggie Wayne work out at NE? It happens and sometimes players don't fit with what they're doing.

In all honesty who cares what Fish has to say?

If our coaching staff was so confident in our previous group of RBs then they wouldn't have made this trade. It's really as simple as that.

He is implying that the Cowboys dont trust him off the field

That's the way I'm seeing this thing as well. Sometimes, the fact that a player has experienced being cut affects his resolve to change what he's been doing wrong or failing to do in the past. If he's as pleased to play for Dallas as he appears to be, maybe it would mean enough to him to do whatever might be necessary for him to be successful.

I wouldn't agree. Fish is often pretty insightful. He's certainly as savvy as the best posters here, probably with the advantage of at least knowing some guys that might leak a little info now and then.
