The cutting Taco regret was real...so we go out and get the next best thing....Can't wait to see the excuses why this guy misses practice. When he is on....he's a good player. Sadly...I think those days are over.

New england was probably going to release him and got Dallas to give them a pick. Belichick doesn't tolerate his coaching staff being questioned. He did that and he is kicked out. If he didnt like two gapping or being asked to play the run in their defense he shouldn't have signed there.

How much of an idiot do you have to be to not be happy playing on what is going to end up being one of the maybe top 5 or top 3 defenses ever. They look like the 85 bears right now, but this guy was unhappy playing there. Says all there is to say.

He didnt sign with the Pats, he was traded to them by the Eagles. The problems was that he was strictly being used as a situational pass rusher with the Pats, and he didnt like it and mouthed off at the coaches.

Belicheck doesn't tolerate stuff like that, you dont question hoodie and how he runs the team.

So, he was suspended for "conduct detrimental to the organization" and told to pack his bags, he was done in NE. They would have flat out released him, but they were scared he would sign with an AFC contender like the Chiefs so they offered him up for basically free to any NFC teams and the Cowboys said yes.

Yep, he wanted to play 3 downs instead of just passing downs.

Ruh roh!

I only see him as a situational pass rusher at 3T too. Since we rotate so much, maybe some snaps at RDE/LDE behind Lawrence and Quinn.

But the max snaps for the dline is around 75%. Nobody gets close to 100%

"He mouths off." Who cares?

I don't know why grown men are such delicate daisies that they let someone's mouth get in the way of winning.

I don’t think he will finish the season on the roster. I do not see him meshing well with the coaching staff.

Probably discussed already in the flow of 22 pages, but fwiw and siap...

I suppose we can safely assume Randy (you remember, Gregory) isn't expected back this year.

Season is half over with and Randy has not even applied for reinstatement yet.

Yeah, pretty safe bet that Randy aint coming back this year, or probably any year.............at least until the NFL stops testing for weed.

I think Michael Bennett is washed...has been for years now. But hey, maybe in a platoon he can be good in spots.

He has 2.5 sacks on the year and he has been sitting on the bench most of the year in NE.

Our $100 million dollar DE has exactly 1 more sack than Bennett, 3.5 on the season.

Let that sink in......the guy you say is washed up and has been riding pine all year with the Pats has 1 sack less than our $100 million dollar DE.

If he's so good, why did they let him go when on a Super Bowl run?

He didnt fit their 3-4 scheme and was regulated to being a deep backup, situational pass rusher only.

He didnt like "his nothing role" as he described it, mouthed off at the coaches...........so they shipped him off.

And in his "nothing role" as he described it, he has exactly 1 sack less than our $100 million dollar DE...............think about that for a while.

What if it's just a ploy by the Patriots to get Intel for the NE vs Dallas game....I could see the Patriots doing some mischievous BS like this to get an advantage....coach B is like that. When Garrett blows his top and JJ cuts Bennett, Bennett resigns with NE and everyone in the league is laughing at Dallas.

Dude, nobody needs intel on the Dallas defense. We run one of the most basic, archaic defensive schemes in the league.

Everybody we play says the exact same thing, "Dallas never does anything different, they just do what they do". When the same teams play the Pats, the QBs talk about seeing ghost out there.............LMAO, like the Pats need inside info on the Dallas defense:lmao2:

Oh, he handled him. He traded his *** to Dallas!

Jerry just traded for a guy who was just suspended from the team that every other team
aspires to be, by the coach every team wishes they had. What could go wrong!?!

Money and playing time are the two things NFL players care about...........take one of those away, and they become disgruntled pretty fast.

Even the mighty Pats are not immune to this dynamic.

I guess that not getting Gregory back and losing Crawford had it's effect...and a surprise at this, He will plug into a very solid rotation now.

Why was his playtime being reduced with the Patriots?

They were going to run a hybrid 4-3/3-4 scheme to start the season so they traded for Bennett since he is a 43 guy. However, they quickly decided to abandon that scheme and use primarily a 3-4 scheme. Bennett really didnt fit a pure 34 scheme so he ended up being a deep back up and only playing as a situational pass rusher.

He didnt like "his nothing role" as he described it and mouthed off at the coaches.............you dont mouth off at hoodie and stay on the team.

Yep. I hate this guys personality. He’s still got talent. And I love the principle behind the trade. We need to be better on defense. Now is the time.

Exactly Idgit, I agree completely.
We have the number 1 ranked offense in the league and we are 4-3:huh:

Clearly defense is an issue and Bennett can obviously help with the pass rush.

Safety is another weakness of this defense, that is why I was screaming for Earl Thomas, but we decided to play with what we got.:(
