Offense has been an issue, too. We only scored 10 points against New Orleans. Turnovers made it tougher on the defense against Green Bay. We scored nothing until we were down 24-0.
there will be those games for every team imo. we are 1st in yards/game and 6th in points/game. it hasn't been that big of an achilles heel.

This is the last team he wants to play for. I don't expect this to last long. Terrible match for this market.

Fits well with the Cowboys all or nothing approach this year, like grabbing Cooper last year, addressing needs directly provides immediate help, rather than waiting on the draft.

I doubt they intend for Bennett to be a multi-year player, but you never know, he may have been angling to get to Dallas for years, lots of ex-NFL players live in Dallas.

He was apparently fine in NE last year, if he makes it through this year without tearing apart the team he can really make an impact...

I’m decidedly opposed to cancel cultural—that is, I hate when a person loses his job because some busybody unearths an objectionable comment or action he made unrelated to his job. Bennett shouldn’t be banned from football due to extracurricular behavior. There are only two pertinent questions: Can he help the team on the field? Is he a good teammate?

What's funny is I bet the same people who complain about a cancel culture are the same ones saying this guy shouldn't be able to play in the NFL because they find other actions of his "offensive." Weather vane principles. They shift depending on what's convenient for self at the time (while complaining that others are selfish, lol).

I know he was complaining when he was on the Eagles about not having enough playtime, then he did the same in New England. Hopefully it's not the same situation here because he will be rotating with Quinn right? I really like Bennett but let's hope things remain calm with the drama.

Very well put!

I see all these people celebrating this trade ...... But personally I am not convinced he will ever play a down for us.

He has stated in the past how much he hates the cowboys because of how he feels they treated his little brother.

He has his own personal code and just will not do something he does not want to do, and will not stay quiet about it.

If he really hates the Cowboys like he has said in the past ....... I don't see him agreeing to play here.

The DEs are scary, but the DTs? Nope.

I think, and hope, Bennett can fire up the pass rush, but there's only 2 DEs on the field, still need the DTs to provide some inside rush, regardless of how good Bennett is or plays...

On passing downs, he will be playing inside and I think will do very well there. Teams can only double so many pass rushers and Quinn and DLaw are among the league leaders in getting double-teamed.

We lost the New Orleans game because of the offense, not because of the defense, so it was directly responsible for one of our three loses. Against Green Bay, we were asking too much of the defense by turning the ball over and not scoring until midway through the third quarter. Both units have been responsible for our failures, which is why we are 4-3.

Some of it is expectations. Coming here, he has to know that Dallas already has starting ends in Lawrence and Quinn and his role is going to be playing some base end in a rotation and some nickel interior pass rusher. In those two roles, though, he can pick up quite a few snaps.

That's what I was thinking. He hates us. Hopefully he tries to perform to get another deal!

Hatred can be tempered by situation. He didn't like how he was being used in New England and wanted out. This defense fits what he does well.

I'm curious to see how this plays out. Bennett did make the comment that Jerry Jones treats players like property after the national anthem controversy

At previous stops in Seattle and Philadelphia, Bennett was allowed to be a one-gapping penetrator who brought heat on opposing quarterbacks thanks to his quickness and savvy at the line of scrimmage. The Patriots ask their defensive linemen to be brutes -- especially on the interior -- which didn't mesh with what Bennett was comfortable with. He played on the inside in Bill Belichick's 3-4 style scheme more than 70 percent of the time this season. Meanwhile, last season in Philadelphia, Bennett played more than 70 percent of his snaps on the edge.

That coming from the guy who willingly signed w/ the team who is by far the worst at treating players like property!!!!!!
