TRADED Cowboys trade for OT Broderick Jones

Tell you what he hasn’t been as bad as Shelton or Steele….worth a look.

Either that or the Steelers are trying to get Jerry back for fleecing them on the Pickens trade. LOL

I'm trying be optimistic about it... but he's probable even a smidgen worse Steele.

My take is the Steeler paid a hefty 1st round fee to get him, then performed like Steele or worse. They couldn't stomach the 5th year option and just wanted to quit looking at him. Think Mazi Smith.

He did play on the left side though. Maybe we graded the guy as a RT? Fingers crossed.

Also, I hate to say something positive about ol' Turn-Steele... but check this out:

Unfortunately, Steels's grades, as ho-hum as they are, are still a little better than this new chump's grades.

Anyways, let's hope young Broderick just needs to move to the right side and a change of scenery (like Pickens). Right?

That works, or maybe trade Flournoy for at least a 3. And we do have a surplus of WR as it is. Maybe we could see if Mingo or Brown can get us something in return.

David Bailey is going to do that to a lot of Tackles in this league.

But this trade certainly confirms what many Cowboys fans could clearly see - we have a problem at OT. Broderick Jones is a curious acquisition because he has been underwhelming for a first round pick.

Curious move. Not that we picked up an OT. But…this guy?

There is a league wide shortage of offensive tackles.

Jones is a free agent following this season because the Steelers did not exercise the 5th year option of his rookie contract. But now that the Cowboys inherit that contract, can they now add the 5th year option (through 2027)????

Good question....But I think they can't. I could be wrong....but it would be a nice option to have.

Mingo hasn't proven anything. He's got like two catches in two years after we traded a good draft pick for him. You can find anybody off the street to run real fast and tackle on special teams, you don't need to burn a 4th rounder on them.

And yes, those guys do have something to do with Jones. We're doing the same thing we've done in the past (trade for someone who can't play because our GMs know his name) and losing good draft capital. Has this guy been any better than Steele? Why are we sending a good draft pick for him? What would you think if the situation were reveresed and a team sent us a three for Steele? We'd laugh our ***** off!

I guess. I won't expect Jones to come in and miraculously be the top OT.

But if Jones can develop into quality depth, that's good enough.

Hopefully the change in scenery and the locker room can help him refocus on what made him a 1st Rd pick.

Mingo is a solid special teams player and 4th receiver. You have no clue about the gunner position.
