They traded for potential. It’s not rocket science. Mingo has a higher ceiling than Tolbert . That’s what they think anyway. Dotson isn’t your 3rd best receiver either. But you still did it let’s not act confused like these front offices dint think over are thr smartest people in the room.#3 WR?
Mingo is not close to as good as Tolbert. It’s arguable he’s even on par with Cropper. I would much prefer to play Turpin more at WR then put Mingo’s butterfingers out there.
You just traded a 4th round pick for a #5 WR who may not make your 53-man next summer. There has to be something more to this
The thinking makes sense. The compensation doesn't. This is the kind of player who should net a 6th, 5th maybe.Thats the one thought process that actually makes sense. If they planned on a mid round pick next year as a developmental WR anyways why not go grab a guy you liked who was a 2nd rounder coming out. I'm not a huge fan of the move, but if you're gonna gamble on a player a buy low (sort of) guy from a bad team with a bad QB room is probably the best bet.
Good perspective, a young receiver who was a 2nd round pick a year ago. Had an OK rookie campaign. I presume he's a player the Cowboys really liked in the 2023 draft and saw an opportunity to flip a 4th rounder for a player they had a 2nd round grade on a short time ago.
The trade doesn't get me excited, but let's give the guy a chance before we as fans knock the trade.
I think they gave blockers. Problem is…..they won’t play them.LOL, we're all about prioritizing tight ends and wide receivers and we can't block for shyte or stop the run.
Yeah I agree. Even Lance showed more to get a 4th. Mingo is fine it’s the compensation that sucks. The thinking makes sense. The compensation doesn't. This is the kind of player who should net a 6th, 5th maybe.
Awful trade. We gave up amari cooper for a 5th. And we trade a 4th for a 2nd rd bust with no qb to throw him the ball???? Am I high right now?
Sounds promising.
we gave up more for him than the Browns gave up for a perennial thousand yard WR that transformed our offense. For a 4th
A tell-tale sign of a real stinker of a trade is when it looks worse than the Lance trade.I could see a fourth for Lance (and a prayer) but this simply doesn't make sense. Dallas wasn't a receiver short of doing anything this year. A decent offensive lineman, fine, but a receiver...
I get that. He hasn’t had much around him. I’d easily have a 5th since he hasn’t had much two years left. Not his worst moveI liked Mingo alot coming out. We got two more years of contract control for a guy that could be better than Tolbert without Bryce Young getting him the ball.
4th is more than I wanted to give up, but we need WR's going foward. Just hoping it crosses WR off the needs list
Dont hate it
I like the player. It’s not a move for this year. They overvalue him for sure. He very well could be a bust.I get that they probably liked him in the draft, and Jerry may actually even remember who he is, but that’s not the going rate for probable busts that teams want to dump, and he is very redundant here with Tolbert and Brooks.
Throw in the fact that he can’t work with Dak for another month at least. Just makes no sense, but I don’t really know why I’m so surprised.
It feels like this was about Jerry just wanting to be in the news and claiming that this team has a shot, etc.
The carnival barker gon’ bark I guess. I just hope he stops here.
Just don’t foolishly throw away draft picks then tell us we have no running back because “draft didn’t fall that way.”
Sorry for the tone, I’m just pissed more than I ought to be lol.
lol sure dudeThis trade only makes sense if Lamb is being traded later today for 2 or 3 first rounders.
