Less. What did Deandre Hopkins go for
Less. What did Deandre Hopkins go for
He looks pretty quick on tapeI get that. He hasn’t had much around him. I’d easily have a 5th since he hasn’t had much two years left. Not his worst move
Yep. If he works out no one should care that we traded a four. Hope works though.Thats the one thought process that actually makes sense. If they planned on a mid round pick next year as a developmental WR anyways why not go grab a guy you liked who was a 2nd rounder coming out. I'm not a huge fan of the move, but if you're gonna gamble on a player a buy low (sort of) guy from a bad team with a bad QB room is probably the best bet.
I’d be selling but then again I would have fired myself if I was Jerry. I guess the logic is he was a nice prospect coming out. Went to a team without a QB and has 2 years left. I could easily get giving a 5th since we will have multiple 5th round picks this yearWhy is this team buying? Good lord. The dumbest FO ever.
Yesg his ceiling is much higher then Tolbert I don’t know wry people keep saying otherwise. He looks pretty quick on tape
Had great combine numbers.
He’s likely better than Tolbert IMO
This is for the future. Why is this team buying? Good lord. The dumbest FO ever.
Maybe. I get the logic but not the price. I don’t think he’s worth a 4th. I’d rather work a deal to give a 5th since we will have multiple 5th round picks this draft. My guess is no one else offered a 4thHe looks pretty quick on tape

Yeah I would agree. I'm assuming they used the Jahan Dotson trade as a starting template for this one as the situations are similar....which also doesn't seem to have been a great deal for Philly. The thinking makes sense. The compensation doesn't. This is the kind of player who should net a 6th, 5th maybe.
It’s a gamble that we can get more out of him than they did. He hasn’t had much 2 years left on rookie deal so not totally crazy. I just rather have the 4th. A 5th would have been fine since we will have multiple 5th rnd picksThis is for the future.
Yeah agree on paying too much. A 6 is probably about rightMaybe. I get the logic but not the price. I don’t think he’s worth a 4th. I’d rather work a deal to give a 5th since we will have multiple 5th round picks this draft. My guess is no one else offered a 4th
I agree. Sadly the only person that would offer a 4 for him is probably Jerry. Need to take wherever you can from Chargers and see if they want him.I think it's more the fact that the Panthers realize they're so deep in the hole that they might have needs in areas other than an unproductive WR. A good example for the Cowboys would be Schoonmaker. He may be too early to give up on as well and I'm sure that's why Jerry won't want to shop him, but considering the team's needs to they really need to hang on to him just because they spent a 2nd? If I were Jerry and someone offered me a 4th for Schoon I'd say yes, because a largely unproductive Tight End is not going to make the difference given the teams current problems.
I mean it just depends if we were gonna draft a receiver anyway with it I’d rather just see what he has. It’s a gamble that we can get more out of him than they did. He hasn’t had much 2 years left on rookie deal so not totally crazy. I just rather have the 4th. A 5th would have been fine since we will have multiple 5th rnd picks
It’s not really buying though. When you trade for guys like this this isn’t a now move. You trade for D Hop you are a buyer. So we are buyers? What the hell is wrong with this organization. You give a 4th round pick you need to rebuild to bring in a WR for your back-up QB the next 4 weeks? We are truly run by idiots.
Apparently, Jerry has something against 4th round picks!!This Jag is worth a 6th at best. What in the world is this front office doing? This is the second time they have given up a 4th round pick for a JAG thats worth a 6th round at best. Just because he was a high 2nd round pick.
