the more I think about it, I put most of the blame on the two first half fumbles

It robs us of 2 possessions, obviously. The first sets up WAS in FG territory, which they ultimately convert. The second is at their 5 yard line, robbing us of at least 3 and probably 7. This game was always going to be closer than we wanted, but without those point swings I think we end up with a comfortable victory of something like 24-10.

the story of the game should be the same as week 1, but people will focus on Romo and the 4th quarter/OT

We know that Weedon can come in and play well which is what I thought he could do. The thing with Weedon is you don't want him playing for a long period of time. A half, a couple of series, a game or two fine but anything longer than that and you will probably see Weedon from Cleveland come into player.

i want to see if you're right though.

that man has a cannon...and i want to see him unleash that cannon.

a prime example that negates the notion the coaches wouldve stuck with Murray and ran more with weeden is after the huge run Murray had in the 3rd that set up a fg. after a huge run what did the cowboys do only a few yards away from scoring? passed it 2 straight times to Dez with Weeden fresh off the bench. why not run it again then there after gashing them?

that was the first of the idiotic plycalling that ensued before the 2nd and 2 pss happy debacle in OT that led to our demise

they had me amazed with the change in philosophy all year. week by week i expected to see the same ol crap and didnt. then right when i believed things were different this time they showed their ugly heads onces again

Romo has been doing good all year long. But Washington (I refuse to call them by their nick name) they had nothing to lose and went into an all out blitz look and Romo was just confused all night long. Meanwhile, Weeden came in and had no problems with it. Strange.

Thank you, Clove. I hope you don't get group jumped like I did. Everyone was just off tonight. I wonder if maybe they got big for britches and underestimated this team. They should know better than that. Cowboys/Commanders always play tuff, no matter our personal records. I don't know what happened tonight. All I know is Weeden was ballin, especially with the youngens who get to practice with him every day. Then Tony comes back in, and all of a sudden, we're on the losing end. I thought Tony will still do this, because I just knew we were gonna pull it out, but it didn't happen, his injury prevailed, he couldn't throw worth a darn, and he really should not have come back out. If we had a stronger head coach and doctor, he would NOT have been allowed to go back out there. But the 100 million dollar man gets what ever he wants.

Tony has been super great this year. Surprisingly great! But, he really should have put his hat on and had a little more faith in his backup QB. Obviously, Tony has no faith in Brandon at all. And apparently, neither does the yellow bellied head coach, who makes the ultimate call.

He does have a nice arm but he will make a lot of mistakes over a long period of time if he is your starter. Hopefully it doesn't get to this point.

this was a team loss through and through.

Dez is going to see a bunch of drops. a lack of seperation.

Witten had drops

Romo was not seeing the rush at all.

Linehan forgot our identity.

our backs with two fumbles.

special teams did nothing of note

McClain missed a ton of tackles. Church - ditto. Carr - toast. Rushman ~ crickets.

Scandrick is probably the only guy I didn't notice with a gaff. did he come back from his injury though? Edit to say Wilcox had a good game

no one is talking about murrays ridiculous fumble on their 15 yard line. Dez drop in the end zone,Randles fumble inside their 30, those cost us the game.

Romo was selfish tonite, but himself above the team. Never should have come back in the game. Be a leader, and trust your teammate to do there job and win the game.

More often than not you are going to lose on the road and the Cowboys have the majority of games left on road.
so a 4-4 record gives us a pretty good
chance of the playoffs and one of those road games is in London.

I hate to break up Cowboys Rehab, but a little perspective here:
  • Every coaching staff and team has a bad day at the office. Yes, the offensive coaching staff didn't get it done today, and should not have let Romo back into the game. But, one loss does not wipe out all of the improvements seen thus far.
  • Even with the loss, the Cowboys are still tied for the division lead (though Philly has the tiebreaker due to no losses in the division).
  • The team is saying Romo has a bruised back. This is good news. If he was injured more seriously, this team would be in trouble.
  • Murray continues to show that he is a stud, but needs to work on attention to detail. He had two bad plays tonight, and both were costly.
  • Henry Melton looked quick and explosive tonight, and may be getting his legs back.
  • DeMarcus Lawrence will be ready to make his debut next week, and this can only help things out.
  • The team is 6-2. Yes, we all wish it were 7-1, but they are positioned to compete for the division and the playoffs. The South is a complete dumpster fire. The North is a two team race between the Packers and Lions, and both teams are dealing with injury issues (Rodgers less than 100%, Fairley gone for 6 weeks, and Megatron having missed the last two weeks). The West looks like it will be between the 49ers and Cardinals, and the Cowboys can make that race even tighter with a win next week.
I hate losses as much as the next guy, but this team played well in the first half of the season. Now, we will truly see how much progress they have made now that they have hit some adversity.

Norm is ticking me off, being combative with callers just because.....Norm says all week we have to run the ball, caller says we should have run it more in OT and Norm wants to argue

Lol - what - did you think we'd go undefeated the rest of the way. We're gonna lose again probably - it happens. Everybody has bad games and this was a bad game. We'll learn from it.

We'll learn from it? Weeden could have won that game. The only thing to learn is Romo's ego continues to lose games.

Either way, it's time to draft Romo's successor in the next draft and start grooming him, whether it's 2, 3, 4 years from now before he see the field. Romo has too many injury problems...this won't be the last time for him

Disappointed of course but hopefully it teaches the team to prepare better. Seems clear everyone took the Skins lightly and they just wanted it more from the opening whistle.

TOns of questsions and here goes Dallas again, "OMG Escobar is winning his battles and getting TD's screw that guy, lets play Devin Street" Why do we NOT play the guys who can do for us and abandon anything that works? WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

and i dont care if the sun shine pumpers are mad or calls me out, why is it not on Garrett when this team fails ON both sides of the ball? WHen does he take accountability for anything besides winning.

This will definitely happen. I can see a QB being drafted in one of the first 3 rounds next year. It is a must.

Really not looking forward to Philthy now, their offense will give us fits and it could be ugly. It is imperative we split with them.
