Game Day ***Cowboys vs Eagles post game thread***

I am proud of the players. Unfortunately they do not have quality leadership on the sideline to help them make up the difference in the talent that is missing. Orton did his job tonight. The INT should not have been the deciding factor if they stop settling for FGs.

Garrett presser quotes:

Keep banging away
We'll learn from the experience
Put ourselves in position, but we didn't make plays
We've certainly made progress with this team
We're all accountable
We'll have to watch the tape
I'm proud to be part of the group
This team battles and overcomes adversities
Keep fighting and believing
Lot of obstacles to overcome, guys laid it on the line
Guys played through good things and bad things.

In other words, the same old recycled garbage. This man really has no clue. He and Jerry deserve each other. We all deserve better from this franchise.

Hey Garret.....................the season is over with loser.............there is no freaking tape to go watch...............you have proved once again that you cant win jack in this league...................go apply at Div 3 Western Omaha, maybe you can break 500 there.

I wonder what this offense would look like with a young stud QB? I'm not being mean or funny, but think about it for a second. Austin was open on that slant, could have gone for 20 plus. Give Garrett a QB that's accurate and smart, then it's unstoppable. The problem is, his other deficiencies in coaching are glaring.

God, you are impossible. We were 3rd in the league in RZ efficiency with Romo. And we gagged in the RZ repeatedly tonight. One of only a handful of QBs to be in the top 10 in passer rating every year of his career and you continue to defend the red-headed bafoon. Good lord.

Maybe. But Kiffin played one of the best offenses in the league and the defense won both of its games with the Eagles. The offense lost this game.

I wasn't really being serious, but it speaks volumes to me that we didn't take advantage and wrap up the division a long time ago. Chip won in his first season..

The only way this game would not be put on Garrett is if we had won. This team was well prepared and played well tonight. We got beat by turnovers and a healthier team.

Yea, what were the results of those? Just curious? B/c we didn't convert a single one of the 3rd and 4th and short passes

We converted the 3rd and 2 in the first half, and the 3rd and 3 was the play right before the 4th and 1. I would have run it again, That's one of those where if it works genius. If it doesn't, terrible.

This game is on Garrett.................the defense played balls to the wall against one of the best offenses in the NFL.................Garrett just reverted back to the loser he is...................should have won this game if managed correctly.

So, what would have constituted managing the game correctly? Giving the ball to Murray more with his 3 yards/carry average?

Injuries are the exact excuse our bumbling GM will use to justify his mismanagement of this franchise.

Well, I've got to give Garrett his due. Three straight years of 8-8, while losing three straight win and in week 17 games to all three of our division rivals!!! Congrats! That seems almost impossible to do, yet the red-headed idiot did it!

So abandoning the run and the horrible throw on 4th and 1 are due to injuries? You are relentless with the injury line but it doesn't explain our inability to win close games.

I think we didn't run enough but when we started gashing them they stacked the box with either a run blitz or just numbers in the box. Then they started stopping the run. You can run against that if you want but it is stupider to do that and hit the wall than it is to call out the passing. The defense is going to want to put the game on Orton's shoulders and they did. They just turned the ball over three times and didn't score TDs in the RZ. That's the tale of this game.

There's this play called "play-action" that works against that defense. It's not very effective, however when you've abandoned the run and the opposing defense knows it. Garrett isn't exactly a riddle to figure out.

Goal line stand. 300+ yards by Orton. Defense played better than expected. Murray ran well when given a chance. Witten was a beast. Dez had a sweet TD. The offensive line played well. All that and we still lost. I just have no words. I have no answers.

We just fell short. Philly made the most critical play at the end and it was the deciding factor. The effort; especially in defense was good.

3 consecutive 8-8 seasons is not improvement.................I just dont see how anybody can make the case that the team has improved under Garrett..............calling 46 pass plays for the backup QB is just dumb, its asking to get beat.

Not calling 46 pass plays for the backup QB that has not started in 2 years............................thats the first thing that comes to mind.

Cowboys just lost to a Napoleon Dynamite lookalike. The disgrace just gets bigger and bigger.
