True and I'm not defending Weeden but Cassel sometimes made throws that made you want to shake your head (ex. that "punt int."). But, it's the coaches job to get the best out of them and I don't think they did that for either one.

What throws are you talking about? The one he threw that came out his hand wrong and it sprouted wings and got intercepted? Well everyone that has ever threw a football should be able to understand that, other than that he was on target and he was going to the right man, Williams had the defense beat. Uh the other interception he threw against the giants trying to hit butler well that was a bad read on his part and once again any one that has ever threw the ball in the nfl makes bad reads more times than not, the defense fooled him. The INT he threw sunday the one Dez did not try to go get, well that is on Dez, oh I get it you must be talking about the one Williams did not complete his route on that out pattern, maybe it was the pick six where dmac also ran a very poor route. at least Cassel is not afraid to throw the ball over 10yds, and in my opinion he did better than weeden and he has only been here a few weeks.

What do you guys want? We all want wins, but you have to understand the situation we were in.

....very true.....but that argument could have been deducted earlier....when we saw Cleveland Brown QB DNA on him.

Listen..

No more Cleveland rejects.

Weeden and Rob Ryan are enough.

Whomever is evaluating the QB'S hasn't a clue.

Garrett?

Oh my..

Much less one we spent an entire offseason talking about how improved he was.

"I think he's probably the most improved player. He has a greater understanding of the concepts, the protections, calling the plays, all those kinds of things. He's made a big jump this year.
His confidence and his demeanor, his complete understanding and grasping exactly where he's supposed to go with the ball, handling blitzes and things like that, he's been very improved." - Wade Wilson

I would have have rathered fired anyone who made that ridiculous quote than weeden. Weeden can ride the bench and not do any more damage....people who thought he and Brad Johnson can play still have personnel calls. That is infinitely more damaging going forward

Yates was drafted by Houston and was in their system for three years before being cut and brought back. He knew their system pretty well. That said, I understand your point.

wrong, he hasn't been with them under O'Brien. He was with them under the Kubiak system.

Good points/counter points by both you guys though. I didn't even remember Kubiak.....

I think Weeden & Cassell are on equal footing at this point. Not a "good" thing considering the time Weeden has had in Garrett-Top's system.

You think Dez might have made a difference for Weeden, though? He takes a lot of coverage with him.

Good point. Weeden didn't have that luxury of an elite WR sitting on the outside. I honestly think we're splitting hairs when comparing Weeden vs Cassell. The Cowboys either think Cassell truly is the better QB or that they just have a little more invested in Cassell at this point. I'm leaning towards the latter...

Yes, I had completely forgotten that Yates was there under Kubiak. That said, IMO, it still makes a difference that Yates was on the team for three years...knows a lot of the players, is familiar with the stadium and city, etc. He had an advantage over QB's that would have come in to a completely new environment.
