That's what I said bud. Competition for Learys spot to compete with CollinsI think it's more connected to Ron Leary's impending free agent departure.

It truly would be, be it strictly for quality depth, or to open the possibility of making a concerted effort to actually play La'el Collins at right tackle.
I'd love this move.
Unless he plans on learning to play center as well (assuming he can't already) he'd be a fool to sign here.

I think it was a pretty well agreed upon between Cooper and Warmack with Richardson as a hopeful, but doubtful to be there. I really can't remember someone being happy about the actual pick though. We were all wrong in the end though. Both went before our pick and I was bummed. Then the trade back and I was unsure but I always enjoy extra picks.
A guy who would be on his fourth team would be a fool to sign here? He'd be a fool to not to take any contract he can get at this point.
Yes, it's seems like a very low probability that they would plan on Collins being the Swing OT; however, from another point of view, he would only have to be better than Emmett Cleary.I don't know why people can't get it through their skulls that even if Collins is going to eventually be the RT, they are not going to experiment with him at the position this season.
Give it up already.
Loved Cooper coming out of college.
But I worry that if the Pats couldn't get anything out of him that he might be useless.
If it were just the Browns who cut him, I think the "right situation" argument would be reasonable.
That is a very poor article in every way imaginable.
I'd be surprised if no one was interested in signing him in the offseason. I think this late in the season, teams weren't interested because he'll be an UFA. I do agree he shouldn't turn anything down, but if there is at least one other team, it should be them, not Dallas.
Never hurts to take a look at a former first rounder. As Parcells used to say, someone thought highly of the player to select him that high.
Think about that a minute. Do you go car shopping if you have a great car already?
People said the same thing about Collins coming to the Cowboys - 'no room at the inn'. But he chose to come here as well, given the surroundings and the talent around him. And it's pretty much a given that Leary will be leaving, so left guard might open up immediately (depending on what they do with Collins long term).

wasn't leary inactive until Collins got hurt? well that sure didn't work out for himI can't speak for everyone, but I didn't say that about Collins (pretty sure I didn't at least) because there was at least a pathway to being a starter. He was younger than Leary, and cheaper as well. Just based off that, he would get every opportunity to start and imo, he was better than Leary as a rookie. Cooper, unless he is gonna be the back up center, will be inactive every week.
Intitially most hated the pick, was kinda of a shock pick like Jaylon was this year. However we were so starved for talented lineman it was embraced quicklyI think it was a pretty well agreed upon between Cooper and Warmack with Richardson as a hopeful, but doubtful to be there. Good thing I didn't have anything to do with writing it.. just posting the rumor like everyone else in this thread. Appreciate the obvious.
