Maybe. I know we all have this idea that McCarthy is on the hot seat, but we also need to remember this is the same GM who kept Jason Garret for a decade. If MM wants a new QB, I bet he could get it. I'm skeptical that's the case though.
I have no idea why he would be. Our organization has improved tremendously since he took over.

I’m getting that same vibe with Deandre Hopkins. He wore out his welcome in Houston, a team that really needed him, and has quickly done the same in Arizona, despite them immediately giving him a new contract.
Eeeeek. Point made.

And you could be spot on and we see him get an extension after this season, wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm with you in that he's done a solid job overall. Really each of the last two seasons this team has surpassed expectations, it's just been that this team has overachieved early on and those expectations get reset mid year. I see a lot of the narrative being that he needs to get to the NFCCG this year or else....not sure that Jerry would see it that way though, unless his main goal would be to keep DQ over MM?

We have actually become a quality team under MM. Think about it, when was the last time we made a trade anything at all like the Hankins trade? That was a monumentally smart trade, and would've really paid off if Dak hadn't had such a bad game vs SF. I mean, when can you say was the last time we squashed someone's running game in the playoffs? Philly in 09 maybe.

Oh, and I hope not. I truly like DQ, but I'm diabetic now and can no longer eat blizzards.

Fischer was speculating that Dallas could get Cooks for a 4th - which I would be fine with. An 18.3 million cap hit for '23 and 16.5 for '24 - probably doable.

Still, Cooks for a fifth when we only got a 5th for Cooper, who is hands down a better WR. Ugh.
agreed. was fairly surprised though when I did a side by side comparison of cooks and amari. cooks has been waaaaaaay more productive than i ever gave him credit for, even as a fan.

wasn't it more of a BOB ego mania thing? and then he was fired immediately after lol. and think az just needs to reboot, not sure its necessarily a nuk issue. could be though, just not how i've interpreted it

He has, which is why it is so mind blowing as to why everyone wants to dump him. Is he that much of a problem child? Something is most obviously up w/ him. I have no idea what it is.

No one understood why BOB dumped Hop. It never made any sense whatsoever.

Not so easy.
I noticed a couple of folks liked your comment too.
Hey, we'd all love to have gotten AJ, but we can't just wave a wand and the rest of the NFL gets out of the way because we want something.

Philly used the 18th and 101st picks to get him.
PLUS they gave him a 4 year 100 million dollar contract

We MAYBE could have topped their offer by using our 1st and 2nd rounders, plus the 100 million. But maybe even then, they might have thought our pick (24th) was too low to get the player they wanted at 18 (Burk)

So, would you trade Tyler Smith and Sam Williams...plus 100 million to get Brown?
If I was GM we would have had 2 first round picks and still been able to get Tyler Smith. You like them apples? :)
