Twitter: Cowboys working on something “big”

Except in my case, the issue goes beyond his persona. He's been out of football for a year and by the time the season rolls around, he'll not have taken a snap in a real game in over 20 months. He's also going to be 31 and coming off ACL surgery.

It's the unknown that bothers me. What kind of WR are you getting? And what are you paying him? The hype to me is the idea that the OBJ you are getting is the one that dominated the league a few years ago. Are we getting that guy for sure? Like the Raiders knew exactly what they were getting in Adams. What are we getting in OBJ?

If the Cowboys give him some large-ish, long term deal that seems extremely risky to me. A one or two year, smaller prove it type deal? Makes more sense to me.
I just hope they work him out before any signing. Lol.

He has, which is why it is so mind blowing as to why everyone wants to dump him. Is he that much of a problem child? Something is most obviously up w/ him. I have no idea what it is.
thing is, is it that teams want to dump him, or that the market always exists for him at a high return rate. he's been traded for a first (+) multiple times right?

I guess. Weird situation to me.

My reaction every single time when there's a post like this

If I was GM we would have had 2 first round picks and still been able to get Tyler Smith. You like them apples? :)
If I was GM our team would have Chris Jones, DJ Reader, Cooper Kupp, Grady Jarrett, and an OL that will just hurt you.

It was a combination of two things.

1. O’Brien and Hopkins didn’t get along and O’Brien was on a power trip

2. Hopkins wanted a contract extension
I should've said, no one knows why they dumped him for a song!!!!

Hop was the best WR in the NFL at the time, and would've easily brought a 1/2. Maybe more.

George Strait will perform his final concert at corporate name stadium.
Don't even get me started! I went to his Cowboy Rides Away Tour in San Antonio in 2013. Supposed to be his last concert tour. Yeah right. I don't know who I believe less when they say they are retiring, George Strait or Tom Brady. I think Elton John did the same thing. I missed his first farewell tour but caught his last one, until the next farewell tour is announced.

Oh yeah, there’s no defending that. And I think that’s what ultimately cost O’Brien his job. He couldn’t handle the power they gave him and ran the franchise into the ground.

If only there was an available WR that: 1) Is complete head-case, 2) Aging, 3) Expensive, and 4) Coming off miltiple significant injuries.

That would check off every box for JJ.

I don't know about those other guys but I was mad when we took Jaylon Smith over Chris Jones that year in the draft. However, I will give our front office credit on their drafting. Will McClay seems to do a very good job with the draft.

You are bi-polar.

On one hand you rant and rave when posters don't have high expectations for the team and expect them to choke annually but then you also rant and rave about how Jerry continues to screw up and is the biggest reason for our failures.

Well if you have little faith in Jerry why then do you have such faith in them succeeding next year?
I think he just scrolls around seeing who he thinks he can bully.
