This is what I wanted in last year's offseason, as opposed to keeping Weeden. The dude is a little erratic at times, but he's flashed some and has looked like a gamer. He's no franchise QB, but he could be that Kitna 2.0 type reliever we need right now compared to a hesitant 1-read Weeden or check-down charlie like Cassell.

Wasn't aboard with a Veteran QB but now I think Showers could clear waivers. Partly because of his good in-completions.

When I see articles like this, they all mention Romo. Which is fine, but the one i just read at NFL.com just said in the davis article that romo was going to be out for 2 months. Others have said mid season. Are they not listening to what is being said ? JG has said he's not ruling him out for wk 1. And i believe him. David Carr said he had the exact same injury and played two weeks later. And if he was out for six weeks, its nearly two weeks from the start of the season, and another 4 weeks would put him at week 4 or week 5.

Anyway, little things like that bug me.

But on to Davis. I liked him with the Rams, and thought he possibly could be another Romo story. He's better than any back up we had on the team last year imo.
