Whatever that's supposed to mean...

And I'm not asking you to take any "advice" whatsoever. The facts are there. The book is written. And it's likely done. Believe whatever else you want to believe.

But this gimmick quarterback isn't even in the league anymore.

What fact? All I see are opinions and excuses.

Now Jason La Canfora agrees with cowherd that we will slump, but he went further and said we would miss the playoffs.
So did Heath Evans. Dude gave us 8-8

The comparison wasn't about just rookies, it was also one year wonders. Two, Chip Kelly's system isn't anything all that different from most. Teams didn't struggle to figure it out. He just runs it fast. Michael Vick was not good in it either. You might be thinking of 2010...three years before Chip Kelly came to Philly.

If we are still talking about the article here, the comparison is specifically about going from a rookie to year2.
Reading comprehension is fun. Why are we discussing the Eagles now and when did Nick Foley enter the mix
here? Oh, and you just mentioned another black QB.

Why can't we compare Dak to Elway?

Prescott needs to stick with what got him this far. In the games that he struggled last year he tried to force the ball to Dez and it killed several drives. Some of those drives we were moving the ball steadily before he forced it to Dez.
Agreed. It's no longer necessary.

Well it is the year after a great year so who knows. I'm waiting for 2 back to back great years. But Colin doesn't know anything. It took him half the season before he started praising Dak. These idiots just like to trash the Cowboys because they know it will cause controversy and make people talk about them. All a bunch of hot air.
Yep. These boys are speaking to a certain audience. Its business and they know they'er talking nonsense.

8. This team has more talent than the 90's Cowboys teams that won super bowls

9. Only one thing can prevent us from winning 12/13 games the 5 to 6 seasons: sub par play from Dak Prescott

10. David Irving is about to have a monster season: is he jerrys war daddy?

I have the team around 11-5 so all the doubters will be able to say see, not as good as last year. We win the division so those non doubters can say see, we won. Win win

9-7 will not be good enough to finish 4th in the national conference

So Colin is wrong there

I didn't bring up Vick.

Someone said stupid people keep comparing him to other black QBs. That's not really the case. They compare him (or more accurately point to others as a reason for caution) to one-year wonders. In RG3's case, it's also the fact that he was a rookie who, not coincidentally, was the previous record holder for rookie QB passer rating (Something that so many throw around as proof that Dak is the bestestest ever).

I agree with all that you said and your right, but after that Thanksgiving game when RGIII abused us there were many saying oh we have this to look forward to for the next ten years. Look by no means am I saying Dak will be RGIII. Dak will be fine. But the only point here is lets be careful because people go overboard after one season. Good or bad. I agree with the people who say if Dak was an Eagle and had the same exact year with the same team many many cowboys fans would be saying oh he is not that good, without that O Line he would suck. That's all Im saying. So let's just let it play out. Dak will have his growing pains. This year will not be a easy. If I had to choose I would say he will be fine and have a very very good career. Let's see what happens. It just that my expectations for this team is not as high as most.
No doubt that Dak's surrounding cast is a big part of Dak's success. However, this also goes beyond the football field. RGME was trademarking his moniker and selling merchandise under that copyright before he had even stepped on the field. He was dubbed the "chosen one" by his owner from the word go completely circumventing everyone from his teammates to his trainers to his head coach. RGME waltzed into Washington as though his (nor his family's) **** stank. He acted entitled because he WAS entitled.

Dak Prescott, on the other hand, refused to accept ANY endorsement deals during his rookie season because it would distract from his preparation for football. By about the 9 week of the season, those endorsement deals were becoming VERY lucrative. He still held off to maintain his focus on his own development and team success.

Anyone using a stat line to try and compare the two players is making a major mistake because it's literally the only comparison that the two have in common. One is athletic and cerebral. The other is strictly athletic. One is team focused. The other is self focused. One is a leader of men. The other is an *******.

Now, with all that being said, I DO understand your apprehension regarding this teams' success. Every time we seem to be turning a corner or are on the cusp of something great Lucy swipes the ball out from under our kick attempt and we are sitting on our ***** dazed and confused about what the hell just happened. No one can promise us that the stars are going to align and we'll be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season. There are just too many variables involved for anyone to predict anything like that. However, I can say, with almost absolute certainty, that (barring injury) Dak Prescott with NOT be the reason this team fails. Will he make mistakes? Of course. Does he have a lot to learn? Abso-freaking-lutely. Could he actually be a better quarterback this year and we'll have a worse record? Most pundits are betting on it. But one thing that you can count on is that the kid will not be out-worked.........by anyone.

As a side note, I won't tell you (or even request) how to post, what to post or any of that other garbage but I will say that there is a syndrome around here known as the CZ syndrome it's born of constant whiners who have no interest in celebrating this team's success. Their only interest is to *****, whine, complain, and pan any move made by the team, Jones, Garrett, or anyone else of importance. They are the petulant child who has nothing better to do but whine that the world just doesn't go their way. They've been dubbed the Summer's Eve crew (#douchecrew). They take pleasure in shooting down every single positive posted thought about this team with the usual "Jerry Jones sucks/Look at the past 20 years/Garrett's a puppet/any other insult they can possibly come up with. Their mindset is based in cowardice. It's easy to sit back and whine like a ***** and say "I told ya so" all day. It's takes more of a chin to invest yourself in the team and see things for what they actually are (good and bad). Because we didn't win the Super Bowl, the #douchecrew saw the entire season as a failure. Others have the sense to realize that this team is heading in the right direction. The reason that I point any of this out is because you're obviously new here. I wouldn't ever discourage you or anyone else from posting your opinion (it's the basis of any discussion board) but don't let the "boo-hoos" discourage you from feeling good about a damned good football team. Again, I understand your apprehension but we're on the cusp of something special, here. It's OK to have the balls to get behind it rather than letting your enthusiasm get washed away by the obstacles in the turd bowl.

It's because people go on and on about "results" such as the rookie passer rating, but want to dismiss out of hand the QB that had the record prior to Dak.

People bring up Foles and others too, but they are also dismissed, for equally stupid reasons.

Race has nothing to do with it.

It has a lot to do with it, sadly.

Why not compare him to Andrew Luck? His skillset is much closer to Andrew Luck's than it is to Foles or RGIII. Foles was mediocre from the jump. RGIII succeeded as an option running QB in a gimmick offense.

Dak is a pocket passer with mobility, a la Andrew Luck. Similar build, similar measurables, and it's played out thus far - similar football IQ.

I also like how you put on your cape for Colin Cowherd - way to go. Taking the bait of the premiere shock jock in sports radio today.

No that is not Williams

Nonsense
I tend to agree. A buddy and me were talking about this just the other day and I said 9-7.

You have to realize. We are playing a much harder schedule and we lost 4 contributors from our secondary, plus two starting offensive linemen. I like what we did in the draft but counting on rookies doesn't work out great all the time. I think we can still make the playoffs. But it's ok to temper expectations.

13-3
