Cowherd was actually very reasonable in the full discussion and on top of it said Dak is a 10 year starter/will improve this year. He argued our schedule is just tougher and teams won't overlook us like they may have with a rookie 4th rounder starting early in the season. I haven't liked him since he left ESPN and I know many of you didn't like him at all then but he wasn't being a blowhard Steven A or Skip.

Who overlooks teams in the NFL? You only get 16.

So Cowherd knew RG3 would wash out in 5 years after his great rookie season? Nonsense

Eh, ypg Dallas was #1.

Here's some stats for that stacked offense that can score points in bunches.
26th in points.
25th in yards.
29th in rushing yards.
32nd in rushing TDs.

Brandon Marshall must be one heck of a player. Sucks his yards dropped 50% from 15, TDs went from 14 to 3 and he was second in the league in drops.

I had them at no more than 7 wins before the Marshall signing, he doesn't close the gap between us and them.

See the other teams(division)will have to compete against a tougher schedule as well!!!

Per Colin Cowherd and Vegas, the Cowboys will be a 9-7 team ( the fourth best in the NFC).

https://sportsday.***BANNED-URL***/...gas-sees-cowboys-borderline-playoff-team-2017

I personally find this article odd, all the sites sports betting sites I've visited have the Cowboys second or third only to the Patriots to win the Super Bowl.

These are valid points. Nobody should get upset by them. It will take team of warriors to run thru that schedule and 2nd year of QB is usually best indicator of future production. I think Dak will be fine but unless Dallas discovers a pass rushing presence it will be touch-n-go week to week this year. Arrow is pointing up.

It has a lot to do with it, sadly.

Why not compare him to Andrew Luck? His skillset is much closer to Andrew Luck's than it is to Foles or RGIII. Foles was mediocre from the jump. RGIII succeeded as an option running QB in a gimmick offense.

Dak is a pocket passer with mobility, a la Andrew Luck. Similar build, similar measurables, and it's played out thus far - similar football IQ.

I also like how you put on your cape for Colin Cowherd - way to go. Taking the bait of the premiere shock jock in sports radio today.

Because you are confused about what is happening. He isn't being compared to these players. These players are being pointed to as reasons to tap the breaks a little. There are instances of great single seasons. Luck doesn't fit that mold, so he's not a good example.

2 teams that could actually fall to some degree: Seattle and Green Bay

Both teams were lacking in talent towards the end of the season. All season w Seattle

Did Seattle add any significant pieces in FA or draft? Because they need it badly.

Remember their games at Tampa and GB? The QB had no chance to look downfield. Have they corrected this problem?

Do they have a runner? Anybody close to giving that offense what Lynch gave it.

Their receiving corp has always been average, did they improve here?

That defense hasn't been lock down since(and I'll be generous) 2014, did they add any significant pieces?

Seattle is a prime candidate to be 9-7 or 8-8

That team just isn't that talented outside of 5 or 6 guys.

Media won't tell you this.

Green Bay was not good at the end of the season, they were carried by great performance from Rodgers. He showed you Romo fans what Romo should've been doing for the Cowboys in 2011-13.

GB defense has been soft for years. Their secondary was nothing. Peppers is gone, Matthews is 32(and declining). Did they bring back the big running back?

Did they improve their secondary this off season?

Did they add any significant pieces along the front?

Did they add a runner?

They have a better OL than Seattle, so their fall off might not be as bad as the Hawks, but they're a 10 or 11 win team at best.

Why the Cowboys are the best team in pro football: Emerging, young talent

MVP: Dak Prescott
Beast: Elliot
Freak of nature: David Irving Book it: 12 to 15 sacks
Could get scary good if these 2 pan out: RICO Gathers and Jaylon Smith. Not to mention Switzer or Brown
Offensive Line
Quality depth on the defensive line to go along w Irving and other emerging players
Revamped secondary that was overdue

Sometimes it's just your time and it is our time

We are talented baby

13-3

I forgot the best player in the league: Swain

Main competition in division: If the Philly QB is the real deal, they're our competition. If not, we have none. Miss me w that Giants crap.

Did you watch the clip or not? RG3 had washed out of the league before Dak ever set foot on the field. RG3's "great rookie season" included two serious injuries and a playing style that would never work in the league.

Probably right, we didn't do much to improve this off-season.
Nonsense

And large improvement will come from within the team.
Dak will be better
Elliot will be better
Collins will be better
Brown will be better
Irving will be better
Taco will provide an upgrade to some degree

That will equal improvement

Getting rid of Doug Free is an improvement and I like Doug Free!!

That "playing style" is now a pretty significant part of quite a few playbooks in the league. RG3 wasn't going to last (physically) no matter what style he played.

Yup, a lot of assumptions.

By that every team is based on assumptions

Like they didn't win 12 games in 2014 and 13 games in 2016, it's not like I'm trying to pump up a 7-9 squad.

It's not like one guy didn't have what some consider the best rookie season a QB has ever had. It's not like Troy Aikman doesn't hush over Dak. Troy Aikman has never gushed over anything Cowboys related since retirement. But he loves him some Dak

It's not like people weren't saying the RB was better than the great E.Smith last season(a few)

It's not like our OL isn't one of the best... 'but we lost 2 starters'

im not the only one predicting big things for Irving

Cowboys fans be like: 'What about 2015'?

You got me... We shouldn't bother to show up for games this season

6-10

Bleep that: 13-3

This team is LOADED

If Smith ,Gathers and Switzer all pan out, this team will officially have too much talent!!! Not to mention Brown

McClay has messed around and built a team that is more talented than the 90's teams! True spit

But then again, I think the 90's teams are a little overrated.

Luckily for us, if Dak stinks it up this season, this draft class is looking to be one of the best QB draft classes in quite some time. Could possibly end up being better than 2012. Not exactly the worst year to find out what Dak really is and have a down season.

And that goes for every player on the team.
