We heard this before with prior teams, the idea that the door will slam shut I don't buy. They have a young talented defense, talent on offense. Sure there are some big contracts coming but these are also for players among the best at their position in the NFL. Continue to have some hits on players in the draft and this team will remain competitive and a contender for the next several years.

Windows however may close for certain players. We'll likely be looking to infuse young talent on the offensive line over the next few years, a new RB, and the heir to DLAW(Maybe already on the roster?) It's possible even Dak could be on that list a few years down the road.

However, the NFL is so year to year though it's hard to worry beyond the current year. Enjoy the ride!

Don’t know how you can see it as half shut coming off back to back 12-5 playoff seasons with a playoff win. The Cowboys won four games with a backup QB last season. The last time I can remember them doing that was during the 91 season. They also won a playoff game that season and went on to win the Super Bowl the following season. There’s a lot to look forward to going into this season. If they take a step back then I’ll agree the window is half shut, but right now it’s wide open.

The roster will be far less talented in 2024.

Pollard, Tyron and Biadasz are probably gone on offense and the defense will probably lose Gilmore, Hooker, Kearse, Armstrong and Fowler.

2024 draft will need to focus on the secondary and offensive line. And we’ll probably need a RB in the first three rounds.

Dak is in the perfect position to become the highest paid player in the league. He has a top 10 offensive line and top 10 offensive weapons along with a top 5 defense. If Dak gets the Cowboys to the Superbowl Jerry will give him a blank check. I can’t imagine him signing an extension this offseason unless the Cowboys offer him more than Herbert. The sad part is the Dak haters will be cheering him to fail and say we are the ones that are not Cowboys fans.
