Cowherd: "It's ridiculous to expect Dak to get over the hump, as it would be for Kirk Cousins."

Yah, just got to put a team around him. Just like Aikman, Mahomes, Brady, Manning, Elway, ect.....ect................
BAM!!! TRUTH!

I can't stand them clowns who constantly berate Dak for not making it past the divisional round while blasting him for needing a better team around him, yet they kiss Aikman's, Mahomes', Brady's, Manning's and Elway's rumps while praising them as the best QBs ever who have reached or won a Super Bowl, yet they refuse to admit those QBs had some of the best teams and coaches around them during those SB visits.

Just getting back to the forum and realized my mistake.

I should have said as regards lightning striking Flacco, Foles and STAFFORD.

Some of those Brady teams were just kinda above average....and he made them great.

Same with Mahomes....chiefs aren't great without him.

Aikman and Elway....( and steve young and Jim Kelly and montana) had great teams.

Baloney.

Brady had the best Defense in the NFL during his early SB wins. His Offense wasn't bad either. Plus, he had arguably the best coaches in the league as well. Same thing when he won his last SB with Tampa Bay. That team was loaded both on Offense and Defense.

Same goes for Mahomes. Loaded Offense and top 10 Defense, plus some of the best coaches in the NFL.

LoL, yeah right. Chiefs would be nothing without Mahomes, yet he would be great anywhere.

Dak isn't even in the same universe as Mahomes or Brady. And he doesn't have to be. As already posted in this thread, quite a few mediocre QBs have won a SB with a good team around them. But don't make Dak anymore than that. He's mediocre but can win it all if everything is put into place.

I do not consider Prescott even to the hump yet. Fran Tarkenton, Danny White and Jim Kelly? Now, they got to the hump and got thrown back. Prescott has to get past the divisional round to get to the hump.

In today's game, I see a QB like Josh Allen needing to get over the hump more than Prescott or Cousins.

And why the reference to getting over the hump? This assumes a QB is improving each year on his way to the hump and over it. The majority do not even get to the hump.

God given talent carries its own limitations. The question is has Prescott peaked with his talent and is this is as good as it gets? And it is good, just not great like most fans want and think they deserve.

Does he need the help that McMahon, Dilfer and Johnson received? Could happen but they only stood in the winner's circle once.

Get the running game worked out at stronger useage along with more effective receivers. Reduce demands upon Prescott. That may well round out loads and sharpen Prescott as well.

Unfortunately for Dak he's the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. The pressures always going to be greater for him. Nobody even talks about Cousins. He's going to get talked about 24 hours a day on these talking head shows. Hope he can prove everybody wrong.

It’s amazing you can literally be wrong about everything and have a gig…..he’s terrible and not just for his takes on the Cowboys…..
It’s incitement, not entertainment. Just say something controversial to get people worked up and they’ll eat it up.

Sadly, we live in a world where outrage sells more than anything else. So many people get played on a daily basis while never realizing it.

Cousins and Dak are almost identical statistically in every way.
In fact, Cousins has been better over the last 5 years.

That's one reason why it irritates me when folks complain about Dak being "underrated" when Cousins is usually ranked below him.
Whenever they are ranked, they should be ranked right beside each other.....at the very least.

Cousins and Romo share stats too….were they of the same caliber?
