Jerry is the 390th richest person in the entire world.
Think about that. He has more money than Donald Trump. Mark Cuban, Ross Perot ect.

He is close to the end of his life....

He values winning more than you eating his vendors hot dogs.

I disagree or he would be hiring an expert to build a consistent winning franchise. The cowboys are just a cool fun hobby for a very rich man.

this is a franchise in disarray has been for twenty years not a winner year after year even with a very good qb that right here tells you all you need to know and garrett is lost has no idea he is someone that jones can bully its the fans of this team that suffer much and get nothing back. the cowboys are no better than the browns or any of the other struggling franchises, andthey wont be until jerry is no longer in the picture.

I don't see why this is that much different than any other season since Jimmy Johnson walked out the door. Same thing. Same man in charge. Sometimes the atmosphere changes slightly, but the room always has the same smell.

I don't buy it. Jerry had more money than God 20 years ago and he certainly had it after Parcells left. If winning was important, Jerry would have made far different decisions where comfort and the need for credit wasn't the #1 goal.

You almost have to be brain dead not to win "big" in 20 years in a parity driven NFL. I firmly believe money is first and so long as the money keeps flowing even without fielding a consistent winner then it'll be more of the same. And along those same lines, was it just a coincidence when Jerry went outside his comfort zone and hired Parcells when he needed to get his stadium built? The stadium (ie: money) was the #1 priority. The writing with Jerry is on the wall and plain as day for those that want to see it.

People say there are no consequences.....Well I got news for you people who live in Dallas. There are consequences. And it's happening right now. The Cowboys are becoming irrelevant to the NFL...and to fans throughout the rest of the country. TV Networks don't cover the team....and quite frankly...fans have quit caring.

There is a whole generation of people now that don't know what it means to be a superior franchise. Jerry has taken this once proud NFL flagship and turned it into the Chicago Cubs.

No consequences? I don't think so. Fans that live in Dallas don't understand what is happening because they are saturated w/ Cowboy propaganda. Well...I'm telling you now...that the rest of the country has turned off the Cowboys.:(

Because many folks can't remember that era or were too young to appreciate it. This season feels more like a "been there, done that" season and the cycle just keeps repeating itself....year, after year, after year with a glimmer of hope sprinkled in with the chants of "Jerry has changed" so things will get better.

Partially true but we still get the ratings so we are on tv.

I don't think Jerry really cares too much about money since his money has been growing ever since he bought the team.

Jerry wants to win.

Unfortunately, "to win" is under the condition, or subjugated to, "his way". Which really has failed miserably if Super Bowls are the expectations.

I think everyone knows what "his way" means as far as head coaching is concerned, outside of the short time periods of Johnson and Parcells which were the exceptions to the rule. That's why the team has a "coach in training".

The only consequences that would matter to Jerry is that if no one bought his expensive tickets for next season, no one bought his expensive food
and beer at the stadium, and tv ad revenue took a dive next season. Good Luck with that!!! It's on us if Jerry has to pay consequences.

The only problem with that is most fans that attend the games, etc are not fans like us. Die hard fans. Most of them love the team no matter what happens, and my bet is a lot of them don't even know all of the players.

They're are too many casual fans out there that don't analyze every move made out there like we do on CZ.

Jerry accepts responsibility but never admits his incompetence.

As long as he looks me in the eye, admits he's made mistakes and tells me about the time he over extended himself for Deion Sanders, I'm fine with trying the same thing again next year.

I can not wait for camp in July.

The only reason Parcells was brought in was to get the stadium passed. I'm pretty sure I heard a drunk sound clip of him admitting as much. That's probably the only reason why they had a coach like that since Jimmy. Nothing is changing, you just gotta hope some magic can happen in-spite of everything else.

I agree. The truth hurts and it's laid out in this article. Last year I bought back in, hook, line and sinker and thought perhaps they (FO/Coaches) know what they are doing. However last year was nothing more than a mirage with an extraordinary QB who set the tone for a run game with his amazing elusiveness and passing skills.
Without Romo this year, this offensive scheme is horrendous and our HC is now exposed to cheerleader status since he does not have the capacity or understanding to adjust the offense with his new QB's. Hell even Denver got to the playoffs with a midseason QB exchange with Tim Tebow and there are many other examples of NFL teams winning games and playoffs with back up QB's by adjusting their offensive scheme. Apparently we're still trying to cram a square peg in a round hole.
The FO has also been exposed (and admittedly so) to poorly managed coaching and players to play last years philosophy/strategy with a new cast. They let our OL coach go, didn't seek a proper back up in the QB position and now we're paying the price. Opposing coaches and coordinators are feasting on us and our defense cannot hold up the walls any longer.
So now we're hanging on the hope that a beat up QB can last another 1 or 2 seasons while we desperately search for a replacement. All the while our HC will keep all the same strategies in place for another 8-8 season or less.
The sad part is that there are so many holes in the team, coaches and FO, where do you start to fix it? We know 2 of the 3 are not going to change anytime soon so it's hard to have any hope that we won't see the same thing over the next 10 years.
