personally i think its too much for a good player we HOPE becomes great. Its a big gamble imo and he needs to step up it large this year. Having those 3 DE's along side him(Hardy,Gregory and DLaw) should give him 1 on 1 matchups that he simply has to win.

The DT contracts you need to compare to are the recently signed ones. The cap is going to go up with the new tv money and that is why Suh & Dareus got what use to be reserved as QB money and Eli just got 21 million on average.

I don't disagree with that.

But is he worth 1/2 a Dareus?

Yeah, I'd say so... And that's just based on his '14 season. Crawford will be even better this season.

Oh, I'm perfectly happy with the contract. In this scheme, it starts with the 3-tech. I just hope that he stays healthy.

JMO but I would to have seen another years production out of him first.

It's a tough one. I can understand both the pros and cons of the signing. A previous poster stated that's the nature of business in the NFL these days. I suppose so. However, I still have reservations. Since none of us are psychic, I suppose we should trust the organization, as they have been making good decisions as of late.

I bet more than one OC is sweating T Crawford during film sessions.
I almost guarantee it.

Possibly, but im not getting excited. I like Crawford better in Marinellis defense. Now lets see if Crawford proves me wrong or right. Either way its ok. Im not expecting super talent at every position. Hes a fair player. So far.

Maybe but you cannot pretend that he is going to have the same market as someone without his stigma. Certain owners will not touch him. I get that it only requires 1 but seeing how he didn't contest his case further he does seem to have other priorities than money.
Good years from Lawrence and Gregory should mean Hardy is playing somewhere else. Especially if they both approach 10 sacks. Even if we can get him at a discount, it will still cost alot of money to bring him back and it may not be necessary. Not that I would hate it. That is a very nasty rotation, and sometimes you have to pay for quality

This is a good signing, btw. A player I thought would likely be out of reach by season end.

Coolishness. But keep in mind- he IS in a Marinelli defense.
Right now. And for the foreseeable future...

At least next year too... I hope.

If he had another season at least as good '14, and I think an argument could be made that he will be better in '15...

No way do you get the guy for less than $12 mill per year.

And, if he somehow has a breakout kick butt season this year, he might want to sign for more money than this contract next year.

Also, the Hardy deal? From the reports that I read, I think he really likes it with the Cowboys. He made that statement about not going to court was because he did not want any controversy this season. There is something to be said about turning your life around with someone that takes a chance on you and moving on.

The other guy that went to Philly did not want to stick around for the prize.

If Hardy can regain that Kraken form... I want him back.
Even with what we have now.

A great defense is always better than a great offense.
In my opinion... I liken it to what G Popovich says- not always will the ball go into the basket, but you can always play defense.

No more than anyone else here.
I'd say you get less wrong than many, from my recollection.

So stop worrying me!!!
