It is entirely possible that someone else steps up and takes that spot...I think Green has more of a spot locked up than Crayton because of ST... and if someone can be more explosive than Crayton than he may just lose that spot...

I like Crayton and think he has excellent hands...but he isn't what I would call a threat to score from anywhere on the field..We will see what happens but it could be real interesting..

Crayton will be our #3 WR all season...book it.
Go back and watch the SD and Oakland games...or any game before he injured his ankle...
kid is good and has some ridiculous hands and is pretty decent at finding the open spot on the field. He isn't as slow as you imply.
Green isn't taking Crayton's spot as a WR, maybe as a PR, maybe not.
Plus think about the fact that Crayton is our only WR under 31 with a real chance to develop into something special....

With as little depth as we have at WR, why wouldn't he make the team?

Possibly, though I doubt it. At worst he'll be the #4 WR, he will make the team.

you all could have the right of it...but Bill himself said he isn't sure if Crayton can even be a #2...so if some young'un steps up like Merritt, Ahmad, or Rector, Jamaica, or Tolver, J.R. that Bill believes may make a #1 or #2 what happens to Crayton?

Unless he does not improve on what he was after he came back from the injury he will. No reason why he should have any problems. He has great hands and does a lot of the little things that BP likes in a WR.

I was probably one of the first to suggest this so I agree with you that it is possible, though not likely, that he doesn't make the team.

Since he's been in Dallas, Parcells has said that the #4 receiver must contribute on ST. If Green beats Crayton out for #3 and PR, he may not make the roster.

I'm fairly certain he'll make the team. However, I'm not too confident that he'll develop into anything special. Hope he does though, as that would be one less future spot to worry about.

That is sorta what I was thinking...

lets say that Jamaica has just as good of hands as Crayton (hypathetical) has more speed and is more athletic and Green is the real deal on ST...

If you have Owens and Glenn as 1 and 2 and Jamaica as 3 and green as 4..your number 5 guy should be developmental or atleast that is the way I see it

this year TO is 1 and TG is 2. if bp is only here another year or 2 that isn't changing so the fight is for #3 and i disagree a tad - crayton is a threat and i think he's got a lot of potential.

but ya just never know.

Oh don't get me wrong I like Crayton a bunch...but I have been hearing whispers about a couple of these young guys...and should any of them pan out where do they go...the cowboys probably can't stash them on the practice squad and both the starting WR's are in there mid thirties...what would you do with them if you were GM..

if i were GM i'd first quit signing 30+ players then it becomes less of an issue.

I have no doubt Crayton will make the team and I expect him to have a very good season with the Cowboys.

I'm a big Crayton fan. One of the reasons is that he makes plays in pressure situations.

He has the best hands on the team and is deceptive in his speed meaning he isn't top end fast (4.58 in the 40-yard dash), but subtly changes speed that creates defensive pursuit to take bad angles, which he can then beat.

He's strong and will probably be even stronger this year which helps him elude/break tackles. He was having a very good year last year before the injury, then rushed back too fast and wasn't the same for the rest of the season...Kinda like Henry was.

I think on 3rd and long when we are in the 3 WR formation this kid will really thrive. With TO and Glenn both demanding over the top help Crayton will have a field day 1 on 1 in the middle zone with Whitten commanding attention too.

To any of the video guys out there, have you done a 2005 Crayton highlight reel ? If not, I think it would be fun to see. Before the injury he was making a lot of great 3rd down catch's for 1st downs.

Great chain mover and will take Keys spot in that category.

I really don't think it matters if it is the #3 or #4 WR who is contributing that way.

If Crayton was #4 he'd likely be inactive on gameday anyway - we went out and got several solid ST guys this year -- Hannam, Boiman, Watkins, Green - plus if Davis starting he's full time ST. Those guys will play before #4 does.

I dont think Green has a spot locked up, he hasn't even fielded a put or KR yet in the NFL. When he was healthly Crayton was very effective and he has a knack for making first downs.
