Some of what Carter is saying is completely validated.

Dez isn't the same player as he was in 2014. And I do think he expects more targets and goes mentally awol when he doesn't see them. I also tend to believe that he presses when he's too hungry for the football, resulting in drops and fumbles.

Dez needs to stay consistent and let the game come to him a bit. He also needs to refine some routes (short slants, comebacks and sail patterns).

But Carter is taking all of this way too personal. I don't know what his problem is w/Dez, but it's there. Dez should never acknowledge these two fools again and if I were him I'd turn down any and all handshakes and opportunities to DM or whatever. **** these guys.

I hope their mockery of Dez is something they regret and in short order... What say you now when you're holding the Lombardi?

Dez is a glorified possession receiver, he's not an elite receiver and there is nothing that Chris Carter stated that wasn't true about Dez!

Nothing against Dez but I think the Dallas offense is a lot more dynamic and consistent when they distribute the football to many receivers/tightend/backs instead of trying to force it to Dez 14 times a game...

It happened once this year and you use it as a benchmark for your disdain for him.

I thought Shannon Sharp was far harder on Dez than Carter.

Now they do both have a point that the Lions secondary was totally decimated.
But really, a great catch is a great catch.
Really cause Carter said Joy could run a better comeback route then Dez.........

While I do agree with alot you said, Dez's biggest problem has always been consistency. Thats why its hard for the QB to know where he is on the field. It was true especially when he was young, and although he is a lil better about it now, its still an issue that hasn't totally gone away.

Your talking about the offensive system and such, they are talking about Dez, the individual, and his craft of doing the little things it takes to be great.

No they were defendign with his stats this year. That silly 90 times targeted stat. Can we define that by how many were catchable for everyone?

You gotta blame the scheme because we have evidence of other WR's at the top of their game like TO and Miles disappearing.

Also, TO wasn't the best route runner.. He was a guy that was a great at catching and running with the football. Jason didn't make that adjustment for him.

Dez, like TO, is a great player with the ball in his hands, and like TO, we do absolutely nothing to just get the ball in his hands at times. We're lucky if we give him a catch and run situation 1 time in a game.

We should be doing something like this 5 times a game.

Yep.

That show and First Take are the National Enquirer of journalism. You can't take them seriously. But every once in a while there is a nugget of truth in an avalanche of useless rhetoric.

The only thing I see of either is if someone posts something like this on this forum. I actively boycott anything ESPN and grudgingly watch Monday Night Football. But that's it.

Yeah one thing they did leave out though, Dak is a rookie, and especially in the beginning.....alot of those passes to Dez were total misses.

They are getting in better sync now, but Dak missed that endzone fade route for like half the season to Dez.

But that one in week one Dez bobbled. Goes both ways. It hasn't been a great year for him.

Again... They are ranting about his stats.

We don't have Tony Romo throwing 42 passes a game to boost his stats.

We barely target the guy.
They referenced his percent of catches, not how many overall targets he has had other than to compare is catch rate to other WRs with over 90 targets.

I like when he said I had the best hands of all time and his cohost said "you did! But too bad it wasn't attached to the best body that's why you're 2, 3, 4, or 5." Someone has to gif the face he made after that

I cant watch these guys anymore, I saw a few shows, and that was all I could take.
maybe if we win the SB I will check that one out.
They need to get some better people to do these type shows.

The one area where Bryant is elite is in making contested catches. He is very strong. I don't think there is anybody better at coming up with the ball in heavy traffic.

Its not all Dez's fault, nothing in football ever is, its a team sport.

We do have to admit, they are HOF receivers looking solely at Dez's craft individually in this piece.

First off I wasn't making note of any particular game,..... it was just an arbitrary number I threw out...not only this year but years past when Romo was even the starting Qb, it's just a fact watching games on offense with this team, when they distribute the Football, the offense is dynamic and explosive, when they force the ball to one player time and time again, it's not.....it's that simple.....

You're giving them the benefit that they are being fair and unbiased. I'm not.

Shannon just listed all these corners that he needs to see Dez beat but left Xavier Rhodes and Josh Norman off his list.

Before the buccaneers game dez catch rate was 47.5% it's now 52.6 I believe.. the catch percentage doesn't fall all on dez, it falls on DAK too.. for one remember the Philly game? DAK missed him a few times. 800 yards 16 ypc and 8 TDs is damn good on 12 games..Odell Beckham Jr has 67 more targets than dez Bryant. That's freaking crazy
