You don’t know that. Joseph is pretty terrible and he makes really dumb mistakes!
who are we bringing in that can be what Pete Hunter was coming off the street for Seattle in a playoff game?

odds are we bring in someone like Hoofhead Dooblanks

KJ actually had two big penalties on special teams .. the other was a block in the back on a punt return ... and to think they anointed him as captain of special teams at one point.
His stock is down, even on special teams. He's not a heady smart player. But that said, we still need his familarity on the roster at this point.

Wright went out injured twice and KJ had to make up the absence.

The fact that Wright went out with an injury twice is the reason we have to hang on to Joseph as insurance. With just two weeks before the playoffs, I would rather have him than some player we’ve plucked off someone’s practice squad who we know nothing about. Joseph sucks I get it but we could go from bad to worse with someone else. A good corner is not going to be available this time of year.

Yeah, unfortunately you are right. We don't have the luxury of cutting him with our CB situation as it is right now. They need to fix that in the off season though. Cut Joseph and bring in other (non-knucklehead) guys.
We can definitely make it better right now. Joseph is to much of a liability on the field. Plays dumb!!
There are CB’s out there with way higher football IQ’s and almost as talented. The CB we just picked up may be that guy!!

Take a risk. Cut Joseph and take your chances with someone off the street. They can’t be worse!

i think some of you are talking out of bitter emotion than rationality. it's not like Joseph has along term contract here.
and it's a reason why someone on the streets ... are still on the streets.

Joseph had 2 penalties on Special Teams last night. He doesn’t know the rules of the game!! AND doesn’t seem to want to learn them!

Cut him today!

Joseph sucks but who’s available that’s better right now? We could go from bad to worse bringing in some player off the street or from someone’s practice squad. Wright was dinged up twice last night. We need Joseph as insurance! I keep telling you guys the playoffs are only two weeks away. When Joseph isn’t committing penalties, at least he’s been good on special teams.

He did exactly what they teach them to on that STs play. The returner originally misjudged the ball and it carried him to where Joseph was already. He can't see that the guy misjudged the ball.
If the returner keeps moving toward you, you back up and give him enough space to catch the ball, without touching him. This is not complicated!
Why are you making excuses for Joseph? He has made really dumb mistakes all season!

If you cut Joseph, what message does it send?

He isn't a starter. He only gets a few snaps a game.

At this point in the season everyone knows what he is and what he isn't.

If you cut Joseph, the rest of the team would only say, 'it figures' and go on with their daily lives.

"We can fix him" is what every coach says until they day comes when they whisper to the GM. "We can't fix him". Then they are finally given the boot.

Other than the mistake last night he still has played well on special teams. With the playoffs starting in a couple of weeks this isn’t the time to start cutting players. We can do that after the season. Joseph likely won’t be here next season.

I'm with you here. Leave him on special teams. He is a backup/rotational guy for Quinn in an already depleted secondary, and knows the system. Players won't have to adjust to support him too much in comparison to fresh meat of the street.

If you want to cut him do it in the offseason or training camp.

He is a wasted pick, he’s a liability in coverage and also now on ST apparently. The fact he was laughing after the fair catch interference call was enough for me. This guy is a knucklehead. Get rid of him. Also. If anyone noticed. His reaction when the ball came out was so delayed. He is just not it. Cut him and show some accountability to the rest of the roster.
He plays the position that we’re thin at

Our secondary has been depleted and Wright got dinged a couple of times last night. As bad as Joseph has been at corner we can’t take the risk of cutting him and depending on some player off the street or on a practice squad for the playoffs. That’s a good way to go from bad to worse. Joseph knows he’s as good as gone after the season and maybe that will inspire him in the playoffs. With his baggage his career could be on the line.

If getting benched mid game in JAX didn’t inspire him to play better on special teams I don’t know what to tell you.

My god again you’re asking this? Alexander and Mullen are both already better corners than Joseph. And have been on the roster for over a month.

He’s been good on special teams. Just not a good CB at this point. I suspect he gets a 3rd training camp…
