He gets penalized a lot on special times. I usually respect your views but I feel you are off on this one. Joseph will cost us dearly in the playoffs.

Some of my views on Joseph are based on what’s been said by those who cover the Cowboys. He’s been called a special teams stand out. Granted he’s committed a number of penalties but he’s also made plays on special teams. With the playoffs coming up in a couple of weeks you have to ride it out with him in the event we suffer more injuries. I’m as disappointed in him as everyone else but you have to look at the situation logically. He’s lost his starting job, but there isn’t any harm in keeping him around just in case. If he presented no value he would be gone.

We have Alexander and the Mullen. Both who actually want to be here. Let him be someone else’s problem. He can go rap in Washington if he wants
I understand the displeasure and angst towards KJ, but unless there is now possible way of retaining him than why cut just outright cut him.
He doesn't have to play to retain him, maybe he wakes up eventually.

I've known some young really stupid kids that transformed quickly and grew up in a short period of time.
However, I've also known some that have basically remained the same.
Have to hold on to KJ at this point in time, next season could be a different story though.
Jerry already told him he needs to grow up. Nothing. Cut him. Period.

He is a wasted pick, he’s a liability in coverage and also now on ST apparently. The fact he was laughing after the fair catch interference call was enough for me. This guy is a knucklehead. Get rid of him. Also. If anyone noticed. His reaction when the ball came out was so delayed. He is just not it. Cut him and show some accountability to the rest of the roster.
Maybe try him as an in the box Safety (wilson roll).. he has great tackling skill sets and is hella fast... hasn't played a lot of football, a position change may work for Joseph. We stacked at safety however so may have to try elsewhere.

And if he doesn’t? Like say Hill, Charlton, etc. You realize no one would even trade for him if that was an option now. He’s not worth the headache. Cut him and show this team that poor play won’t be tolerated. Instead of the constant coddle culture this team loves to exhibit

He did exactly what they teach them to on that STs play. The returner originally misjudged the ball and it carried him to where Joseph was already. He can't see that the guy misjudged the ball.
I also see your point , the returner drifted into Joseph but Joseph lingered in that area without making any effort to get clear , may be he thought that will not be called or something, that is the issue

How do you fix a lack of interest in football? Changing positions isn’t it. He needs to be cut so he can pursue his rap career.

Other than the mistake last night he still has played well on special teams. With the playoffs starting in a couple of weeks this isn’t the time to start cutting players. We can do that after the season. Joseph likely won’t be here next season.
Two penalties last night, not one.

Six penalties on ST alone this year.

I made this post in the pre season and was ridiculed.

Cut Will McClay too

I get your position and understand where you're coming from, but that was Jimmy ball.
Today's rosters allow ample room for projects.

He was benched last week! And came out this week with 2 stupid penalties on special teams no less. Yeah. I can objectively say he lacks motivation

I don't. There are alternative explanations. Emotion has you stuck on one of them.

While I appreciate and agree with your frustation, cutting him at this time would not be wise as we have limited options on upgrading over him at this time.
Bring him into camp next year and see what you got, bring in competition.
Then make your decision,

He'll be pick up if released... sometimes a change of scenery works. I do think he has burnt too many bridges in Dallas (community and fan base). The team and owner still seems to support him... maybe they know he is out of position

He should have never made the team this season, but Jerry couldn’t bring himself to cut a relatively high second round pick this soon. As poorly as he’s played, we still need him around as insurance in the event of injuries. The playoffs are only two weeks away.

No. Just logic. This ain’t the subject of “my dog isn’t motivated and is lazy” this is a millionaire who doesn’t care about his football career. And it wouldn’t be the first time this has come out. See his college career for more proof he is lazy and unmotivated. Please explain your “alternative explanations “

I think this dude is hanging by the thinnest of threads that got even thinner last night. I do applaud the coaching staff for taking action in the JAX game and benching him. They see what we see and that was the first step.

His ST penalties will be the nail in the coffin!

Nope. There are 2 guys currently on the roster that are already better than him, and they also want to be here.

I would also not be surprised if the family of the man who was murdered by the guy in the same car as Joseph does not come after him eventually in a civil case.
