Lions agreed to terms with LB Justin Durant on a two-year contract.
It may seem like an under-the-radar acquisition, but Durant is a true thumper now playing behind a devastating defensive front. He played well at middle linebacker and on the weak side in Jacksonville, so it's not clear where he'll start out in Detroit. If Durant can stay healthy, he's a key piece in the Lions' revamped defense. Beat writer Tom Kowalski doesn't believe a Durant signing has any impact on a potential Stephen Tulloch addition.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch expects free agent OG Daryn Colledge to sign with the Cardinals.
It's not clear if the Rams have bowed out of the mix, or if they were ever a serious contender. If he signs with Arizona, Deuce Lutui could be on the way out.
Amid rumors the Cardinals might be pursuing OLB Manny Lawson, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic says the Cards "haven't expressed interest."
Lawson has been a free agent afterthought so far, although the same can be said of Matt Roth and Mathias Kiwanuka. Lawson did tear his ACL in 2007, so perhaps teams want to make sure his knee checks out when they can get him into their team facilities on Friday. No free agent visits are allowed before then.
Jason Snelling and Jerome Harrison are emerging as candidates to back up Steven Jackson with the Rams.
It's interesting that neither is a scat back and both have shown the ability to shoulder the load for stretches when called upon. It's not clear if Snelling or Harrison would preclude the Rams from chasing Reggie Bush or Darren Sproles to function as a passing-down specialist

I like what the Lions are doing yet again. Adding solid pieces year by year . Wouldnt be surprised if they snuck in as a wild card this year . Durant has been really solid for Jacksonville and i feel has gone largely unnoticed because its Jacksonville.

One DB I am interested in is Chris Houston. He's not a shutdown corner, but after being a relative bust in Atlanta he seemed to turn it around with Detroit.
